To ask the Chief Executive, further to the response given to the April 2015 Council meeting, for a detailed update on the three year capital programme to develop additional allotment sites at Griffeen Valley Park, Corkagh Park and Tymon Park?
That this Council requests that a new protocol be introduced to ensure that An Garda Síochána are consulted ahead of all future funfairs on SDCC controlled parks and open spaces with a view to putting in place policing plans as appropriate to prevent anti-social behaviour.
"This committee requests that assistance would be given to Round Tower GAA Club to decorate Clondalkin village to honour the Dublin Football team and it's esteemed manager Jim Gavin who is a Clondalkin man and proud Towers member. The flags adorning the lamp standards in parts of Tallaght would be a start and the flying of Dublin flags from the flagpoles at the civic offices would be a good start."
"This committee calls upon the Chief Executive to ensure that due consideration is given to the issue of the proliferation of fast food and junk food outlets when considering planning applications in the Clondalkin area. If the powers to do this are not available, this committee calls upon the Chief Executive to seek those powers and use them."
"That this committee writes to the HSE condemning the decision to cease services at the Boot Road Clinic and urges the HSE to reinstate those vital services without delay."
"To as the Chief Executive could an update be provided on the case of illegal dumping which was referred by me on behalf of residents in St John's Road in late August of this year. (name and address can be supplied.) What action was taken in this case?
Residents are seeking the re-installation of the large boulders which used to block the entrance to this cul de sac laneway as it appears that even when dumpers are caught in the act and evidence supplied it is not possible to address this problem.Would this be possible?"
"This committee agrees that a proper footpath should be installed outside the former Esso garage on Monastery road Clondalkin and that the problem of the very steep entrance to the adjacent Monastery Heights would be addressed at the same time. And that these works would be done at the same time as the drainage works which will once again disrupt traffic on the Monastery Road in the near future. Furthermore, this committee requests that there would in future be more co-ordination of works to ensure that the same road is not dug up several times in close succession with all the attendant traffic disruption therein entailed."
This Council calls on the chief executive to make amendments to the bye law regarding jurisdiction of motor bikes/scramblers in South Dublin County parks to give the Gardai stronger powers in dealing with the ongoing problems we are experiencing County wide.
To call on the Manager to examine and pilot a new text alert initiative to report the misuse of disabled parking bays and to encourage members of the public to report offenders via a free text service.
This is currently being piloted in Gorey Municipal District, Wexford County Council
Non-blue badge holders who use the parking spaces can be fined €80. The new alert system will assist the Council in applying the fine to offenders and it would be a welcome initiative to counteract ongoing problems within our county
The scheme can be viewed at www.wexford.ie/nab
