QUESTION NO. 10
QUESTION: Councillor D. O'Brien
"To ask the Chief Executive for a report on the roundabout at Earlsfort estate. Why has the roundabout been left unfinished for so long?"
REPLY:
"The proposed landscape scheme for Earlsfort roundabout consists of a specimen tree to be planted centrally in the roundabout with summer flowering shrubs radiating from it. The shrubs will be under planted with bulbs to provide seasonal interest. The periphery will be finished in a loose fill hard surface. The combination of these works will help reduce maintenance requirements while enhancing the area. Preparatory works commenced in late spring with the removal of grass however it was necessary to put the works on hold during the summer months. The works have resumed and the hard landscaping element is currently ongoing. Planting has been scheduled to commence before year end."
