To ask the Chief Executive for a further indicative date for the delivery of the new library in Lucan, as set out in the Adamstown planning scheme - phase 6 and to outline any the reason/s for the delays. That this Area Committee agrees to use all methods at its disposal to address this dumping black spot, with respect to dumping on the Bawnogue Road at Lindisfarne, and as follow up to Motion 6 from the October 2024 LEA, and the 13 reports (attached) of dumping in April 2025 alone.

To ask the Chief Executive give some guidance and assurance that the funds are still available within the timeframe of the District Enhancement Scheme listed for Neilstown Shopping Centre and that this be prioritised as soon as works come to an end at the Bawnogue Shopping Centre where it is evident that this scheme is in motion and currently being carried out. I would also ask for confirmation that the funds are indeed in place and will staff will be sourced to complete the project following a consultation phase with the retailers and the members of the community whose livelihood depends on this shopping centre and accessibility to all within the community. With a promise to make this an attractive and encouraging place to shop and connect with other members of the community by utilising the space for socialising and networking.

"In the interests of cost efficiencies, the regeneration of Tallaght Town Centre and addressing building vacancy, that this Area committee asks South Dublin County Council to explore the feasibility of locating the Tallaght Heritage Centre within a vacant or underutilized building in the Tallaght Town Centre area, potentially co-locating it with other cultural and/or evening time economy related uses that will make an active contribution to the vibrancy and vitality of the Town Centre and support the delivery of the Tallaght Town Centre Local Area Plan?"
That this Area Committee while acknowledges the desire of SDCC 'To maintain and enhance the vitality of [Brittas]…' we are concerned that the delays to the promised Unique Planning Study are causing undue stress on families which have lived there for generations; and in some cases people are being forced to relocate due to the current planning policies which are not seen as being supportive of local families and their needs.
That this area committee ask the South Dublin Planning Department to immediately move ahead with the Unique Planning Study for Brittas in light of the Unique Census Form which has been compiled and completed by local residents. This would include setting a date for a public consultation within the next 3 months.
That this Council furnishes a review of the trial agreed to be carried out of the cycle path at Whitehall Road, to include a comprehensive safety audit, an emissions report and the KPIs for the trial.
