That this Council supports An Gorta Mór petition to the Irish Government For a permanent standalone An Gorta Mór exhibition in the National Museum of Ireland in Collins Barracks, appreciating that Irishmen And Irishwomen and the Irish Family Overseas are signing this Petition To right this National Scandal and will the Chief Executive bring this motion to the attention of our Government.

“That this committee expresses its solidarity with housing activists engaged in direct action such as the occupation of vacant buildings to highlight the housing crisis. This committee supports the demand by activists for the Compulsory Purchase of buildings that have been vacant for more than 12 months, and calls on the management to immediately draw up a register of all vacant residential units in the Clondalkin LEA to find suitable buildings for Compulsory Purchase by the council.”

“That this committee agrees to send a message of solidarity to the workers at Lloyd’s Pharmacy in Rowlagh, Neilstown and The Mill, who are engaged in a dispute for union recognition, higher pay, sick pay and holiday pay and an end to zero hour contracts. In addition, to send a letter to the management of The Mill Shopping Centre to express our disappointment with their policy of not allowing striking workers to lawfully picket inside the centre at their place of employment.”
