Mot (3)
Submitted by:
Sen. C. Keane
Responsibility:
Colm Ward, Sheila Kelly

"That this Committee recommends that the area around the Bring Bank on Grange Road/Sarah Curran Avenue be tarmaced and to upgrade the area with a few shrubs –  This place is a mess and SDCC should be ashamed of it. I have been endeavouring for the past five years at least to have the area upgraded/moved – the responses i.e. the delay in negotiations with the OPW being continuously given as a reason for doing nothing is totally frustrating, in March 2008 I had the following response “One such option is an underground bring bank which will be trialled in Sean Walsh Park in the near future. This option may be more amenable to potential bring bank sites such as St. Enda's Car Park in the future”. That this Committee recommends that action to upgrade it be taken immediately."

Mot (4)
Submitted by:
Councillor J. Lahart
Responsibility:
Colm Ward, Sheila Kelly

"With reference to the long drawn out saga regarding the relocation of the Bring centre at Grange Road into the grounds of St Enda's that the manager:

update the committee members of the number of meetings held with the OPW concerning the matter and the most recent;

give the members a complete history of the correspondence between Environment and OPW in this regard;

setting aside the present financial considerations/restriction re budget, explain why it has taken so long to move the process forward demonstrably;

and to outline why members, particularly this member who initiated this issues many many years ago, and has been supported by all members, have NOT been updated particularly regarding the change in position  as refelcted in the answer I received at the last area committee meeting?"

"That this Committee discuss the K type barrier agreed for Woodstown (at Knocklyon Park on St. Colmcilles way) in response to my motion no. 14 April 13th 2010 and agree an  alternative i.e. to consider removing the swinging gate which causes the main problem and place a metal  barrier outside along the footpath to obstruct the direct passage of pedestrians onto the road as the residents association consider the K type barrier large and unsightly .This would also be a less expensive option."
