That the Lucan/Clondalkin Area Committee notes the Council's Draft 5 Year Playground Construction Programme and welcomes the proposal to provide two 4000 square metres playgrounds at a cost of € 700,000 each in Corkagh Park, Clondalkin and  Griffeen Valley Park, Lucan.  However, will the Manager consider the possibility of providing an additional 1000 square metre playground in a neighbourhood park in Lucan, east of the Outer Ring Road, possibly in Ballyowen Park along the Fonthill Road, or in the extended Hermitage Park.

That the Lucan/Clondalkin Area Committee congratulates the people of Lucan, the Tidy Towns Group and local businesses on their contribution to the success of Lucan in the national Tidy Towns Competition. This Committee recommends to the Manager that the Council show its appreciation of that success through an initiative to further promote environmental and litter awareness, such as the provision of additional bins and bring banks and, perhaps, a shop front/shopping centre competition.
