Report on Quarterly Statistics for Anti Social Behaviour
That this Committee calls on the Council to initiate the process for conducting a plebiscite (as per my motion of 21/02/06) to determine a single spelling for PALMERSTOWN as its sometimes spelt - by this Council - as PALMERSTON (which is not recognised as accurate by the local community). This is leading to a lack of respect for a Council that cannot get such a fundamental issue as a place name correct or even be consistent.
Reports on Grants for Conservation of Protected Structures
That this Committee calls on the Manager responsible to initiate the process for the establishment of a trading pitch/site at the entrance to Palmerstown Cemetery. Traditionally, and when the entrance was directly from Kennelsfort Road, there was a licenced trader selling flowers and who has had to endure a lot of hardship due to the fact that his pitch/site was not moved when the entrance was relocated to its present location.
That the Lucan-Clondalkin Area Committee is concerned with the apparent upsurge in incidents where bin tags are stolen from bins in estates in Lucan, and requests the Manager to raise the matter with An Garda Siochana in Lucan and Ronanstown with a view to detection and charging of the culprits, and further requests the Manager to review the policy of the Council in dealing with residents whose tags are stolen but who require to have their bins collected urgently.
To ask the Manager what was the result of the traffic count for vehicles travelling (from the estates) between Kennelsfort Road and the Oval that I requested on the 17/05/06?
That Management provide the elected members with regular updates on the M50 works including-
1. An opportunity to have an input into traffic management
2. Regular reports on noise and air pollution monitoring
3. Advance notice of major disruption or alterations to traffic flow
4. A brief note giving a summary of (unplanned or unexpected) disruptions (to traffic or utilities or severe pollution as happened recently at Holliville)
and that the matter be fully discussed.
That this Committee calls on the Council to maintain the current right of way with its landscaping from Glenaulin Road to Glenaulin Park as this is an amenity that has been enjoyed by the Community for in excess of 35 years.
To ask the Manger what progress has been made in making the Bus Stop on the inward carriageway at the OVAL Palmerstown safe (as per my motion of 22nd November)?
PROPOSED VARIATION OF SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL DEVELOPMENT PLAN 2004 - 2010 FOR LANDS AT TALLAGHT WEST SWIMMING POOL/SPORTS COMPLEX - VARIATION NO. 3.
(circulated herewith)
Could the Manager please do something about cars parking 'all day' in the layby beside St. Mary's School, Lucan. Would it be possible to designate this space for 'short term parking' with relevant penalties for those who park all day in order to assit parents dropping and collecting their young children from the primary school. Also would the Manager please erect small bollards on the footpath adjacent to the school so that cars cannot park on the footpath making it difficult for pedestrians to pass, especially those with buggies and prams.
To ask the Manager exactly what resources are being used to ensure that Clondalkin's village centre becomes a litter free zone?
