That this Committee notes the Report of the Manager on Motion No. 13 at the meeting of 16 January 2007, and particularly his statement that "The option proferred by the Lucan Planning Council is not feasible. A further assessment is required to advance an alternative river Liffey crossing in the Lucan/Leixlip area to relieve congestion." and requests the Manager to have a survey carried out of traffic across the Liffey Bridge in Lucan, using technology which will record the registration numbers of vehicles so that a profile of the home addresses of vehicle owners using the bridge can be obtained.

In acknowledging the inconsistent boundary measures as part of the Outer Ring Road works in Lucan, where some sections have walls, some sections have timber noise barriers and some sections have railings with no noise attenuation measures at all, and in acknowledging the commitment of the Manager in response to my requests in June 2006 that a review of the boundaries on the Outer Ring Road in Lucan will take place when the contract works are completed and to engage a contractor to carry out this examination with a view to remedy such short comings in the scheme and that the Manager will now outline his proposals for the review so that this review will take affect as soon as the Outer Ring Road works are concluded.

That South Dublin County Council carry out a survey of the back lane network in Palmerstown with a view to securing them in such a manner that they will no longer be available for illegal dumping and/or for unsocial activities.  The present situation is a source of ongoing and severe trauma for adjacent residents as well as a drain on scarce Council and Garda resources and frustrating for the whole Community.
