That this Council,
(a) building on the experience of the Intellectual Enterprise Zones and complementary to the role of the County Development Board, act as the catalyst and bring together representatives of the County Enterprise Board, The Chamber of Commerce, SIPTU, IBEC, FAS, Social Welfare, The VEC and IT Tallaght, with the specific objective of identifying and devising a range of responses and strategies for their implementaion, that can be implemented as a matter of urgency at County and local level, and which address directly the unprecedented level and scale of unemployment being experienced by persons and families in this County, and that
(b) a sub-committee, composed of representatives of all political groupings in the chamber and Senior Management of this Council, be established to guide and participate in the process and to oversee and monitor the implementation of the recommendations.
(c) the sub-committee to report progress to this Council at each Monthly Meeting
That this Council agrees to contact the RPA to get them to do a presentation on alterations to the route of Metrowest.
To ask the Manager to report on the Lucan Swimming Pool project, specifically if he would provide as part of the answer to this question, the up-to-date design of the proposed new Lucan Sports and Leisure Centre, incorporating the Lucan Swimming Pool, as agreed in 2006, and as I previously discussed in detail with the Community Department and the Architect's Department?
To ask the Manager, in the light of the unprecedented litter issues in my electoral area of Lucan/Palmerstown, to report in detail on what new initiatives this Council is proposing to help resolve this environmental scourge of litter, dumping and fly tipping?
To ask the Manager to report on ongoing discussions, meetings and progress made in preparation for the Lucan Community Festival 2010, following the successful Lucan Community Festival 2009 that I proposed in this Council in November 2007.
To ask the Manager to report on the number of applicants for housing in the area within the Lucan/Clondalkin Area Committee?
To ask the Manager for an update on efforts to progress the delivery of the long-awaited Palmerstown Community Centre?
Further to my motion at the February meeting, to thank the Manager for this Council's efforts to round-up abandoned horses on lands at Fonthill, Kishoge and Balgaddy and to ask for details of this operation to date including the number of horses seized, the number of seized horses that subsequently had to be put-down and the number of loose or abandoned horses estimated to be remaining on the lands in question?
To ask the Manager to report on recent discussions with the Department of Environment, Heritage & Local Government regarding a request for funding for the proposed redevelopment of the former shop unit site at St. Finian’s Estate, Lucan?
To ask the Manager to write again to Dublin Bus to request installation of bus-stop shelters on Celbridge Road opposite Weston Park Estate and on both sides of Griffeen Avenue at Moy Glas Estate, Lucan; and to further propose to Dublin Bus that in light of current financial restraints, they consider relocating existing shelters from seldom-used or put-down bus-stops such as some of those on the N4 and on newer stretches of the Outer Ring Road?
To ask the Manager to update on my previous request at the January meeting to install a much-needed litter bin at the bus-stop on the N4 immediately west of Ballyowen Lane, Lucan?
To ask the Manager to report on efforts to resolve reported building defects, including dampness and cold-bridging in the Balgaddy Estates and to advise on the number of units where remedial works are yet to be completed?
To ask the Manager if he will write to Irish Rail (Kildare Route Project Team) seeking an up-to-date report on the Kildare Route Project, when it will be finished and operational, and also what are Irish Rail's plans for additional services on Hazelhatch-Heuston route?
