To ask the Manager if he will arrange for the immediate removal of the large graffiti on the gable end wall of the apartment block at Foxford/Ballyowen lane, which is highly visible from the Outer Ring Road and other points, is a source of embarrassment to residents of the apartments, and to further ask if the Council knows how such a large graffiti display was put on an apparently inaccessible wall?
To ask the Manager if he can advise the Committee on the number of Social Housing Units (as distinct from Affordable Units) which have become available to the Council, or to a Housing Association through the Council, under Part V in the Adamstown SDZ since it began, and if it is expected that any further Social Housing Units will become available in 2010?

To thank the Manager and staff of the Environmental Services Department for organising a site meeting with Lucan EA Councillors to investigate incidents of litter and illegal dumping in the area of Ballyowen Lane, and in and in the area, including estates, in and around Ballyowen Castle Shopping Centre, and to ask what remedial measures have been carried out since the on-site meeting, or are planned by the Department?
That this Committee notes the reply to Question 3 to the Manager, at the April Area Committee meeting, and asks the Manager for a progress report on the efforts to bring to a conclusion the provision of a Community Centre, arising from a planning condition, in Palmerstown.
That the Manager to write to the Minster for Education and Skills and request that proper consultation would take place regarding the proposed location of the sites identified for the new primary schools in the Lucan area in the interest of good planning.

That this Committee calls again on the Fianna Fail/Green Party government and in particular on the Minister for Tourism, Culture & Sports Mary Hanafin TD, the Minister for Environment, Heritage, Local Government & Green Party leader John Gormley TD and on the three government TD's representing the Dublin Mid West constituency: Minister Mary Harney TD, Minster John Curran TD & Paul Gogarty TD; to immediately reopen the Local Authority Swimming Pool funding scheme and to provide funding for the long-awaited Lucan Swimming Pool project.
That the Manager will address the graffiti issues at Foxford, Ballyowen Lane, Lucan.
That the Manager will detail housing in the Lucan and Clondalkin to be used in the Social Housing Leasing Initiative. Further that the Manager will estimate the cost and time that may be involved for SDCC in refurbishment at the end of the leasing period.
That this Committee acknowledges the support, financial and the work of staff of the Community Department, given to the 2009 Lucan Community Festival, is cognisant of the financial constraints on the Council in the present financial year, and requests the Manager to advise what financial support could be available to the Committee formed to run the Festival this year, and to confirm that the Committee is eligible to apply for one or more of the standard Community Grants which the Council has continued to provide to various community groups and projects in 2010.
That this Committee requests the Manager to present a detailed report for discussion on what functions and powers the Local Authority and Environmental Health Officers have in relation to requiring owners or developers of vacant properties and of dormant and unfinished building sites to properly maintain these properties and sites so as to eliminate problems of vermin which can pose very serious public health risks to residents of adjoining properties and estates, with particular reference to problems being faced by residents of Tullyhall, Lucan who live immediately adjacent to the unfinished and now dormant building site south of the estate?
That this Area Committee would acknowledge with appreciation, the superb tidy-up carried out in the Balgaddy area on 8th May by the residents of the Balgaddy community, and supported by this Council and the Gardaí. Would the Manager also outline how further assistance and encouragement may be given to the residents of Balgaddy given this local commitment, and to help maintain this momentum.
That this Committee requests the Manager to ensure that dedicated cycle-paths, such as those along the N4, are more regularly swept and cleansed with a specific focus on the need to more regularily remove broken glass which acts as an obvious disincentive to the use of the cycle-paths?
That the Lucan-Clondalkin Area Committee compliments the residents of Balgaddy, the members of Balgaddy Working Together, the CPLN and Council staff, An Garda Síochana, and all who worked on the Clean-up of the 8th May, and to ask the Manager for a report on the project and what supports can be given by the Council to a Balgaddy Environmental Group, if such a group is set up by Balgaddy Working Together and residents.
That the Manager would present a detailed report for discussion on the current upsurge in Graffiti in the Lucan/Clondalkin area? What provisions are in place to help combat this increased problem on an area by area basis.
That the Manager will detail possible projects and funding that the Lucan EA could realise as a result of the DOEHLG allocation of €1.5 million to assist local authorities to tackle graffiti and litter.

That this Committee, conscious of a lack of child changing facilities in County Hall for members of the general public to have access, agrees to call on the Manager to investigate and address this issue as a matter of urgency.
