Letter, dated 16th September 2011, from Greyhound Recycling regarding Emergency Motion passed at September Council meeting
"An bhféadfadh leis an Rannóg Diúscartha Dramhaíola dul i ngleic leis an bhfadhb bruscair atá ann: 1. in aice Bhunscoil Mharcais i nGarrán na Fuinseoige, Gort an Tobair Tamhlacht agus 2. an bruscar ar an bpáirc idir na siopaí agus Arda Achadh an Iúir?
Would the Waste Disposal Department tackle the litter problem at: 1. St Mark's Primary School at Ashgrove, Springfield, Tallaght and 2. the litter on the park between the shops and Virginia Heights, Springfield?"
That this Council recognises the serious issue of pedestrian safety along the Newcastle Road in Lucan but insists that the proposed implementation of a local HGV ban coincides with a lifting of the existing HGV ban on the Outer Ring Road.
To ask the Manager to replace two cherry blossom trees at Esker Lane which were previously removed and not replaced; and to further include additional tree-planting in Woodville Estate as requested by the residents association as part of the next Arboricultural Programme?
To ask the Manager if he will make a Report on the provision of Fire Brigade Services, including the Fire Brigade Ambulance Service, for Lucan and Palmerston?
To ask the Manager if he will report on the operation of the Applicant Sourced Housing Scheme in the Lucan EA, the report to include information on the number of homes offered by property owners and the number of homes which have been secured for the scheme and allocated?
To ask the Manager to outline what actions are proposed to make safe and secure the site at Coolamber, Finnstown given the repeated failure of the land-owner to maintain a secure boundary, in particular the failure to close gaps in railings at Finnsview; and to further outline progress in seeking removal of the remaining unsafe structures on the site which have become the focus of much of the local anti-social behaviour?
To ask the Manager to provide a detailed update on efforts to improve the boundary treatment of the unfinished part of the Paddocks building site and Tandy's Lane / Dodsboro Road as this area remains an eye-sore?
To ask the Manager if all of the water pipes in Council management within this Area Committee's electoral area, that froze over during last winters big freeze have been attended to so that the same will not happen again should we have the severe winter expected again this year?
To ask the Manager for a detailed update on the proposed Permeability Project in the Griffeen area including my long-standing request for a signalised pedestrian crossing on Griffeen Avenue outside Oldbridge Estate?
To ask the Manager if he will provide an updated report on the refurbishment of the Council's vacant house (at the address supplied) for letting and if he will indicate when the house will be allocated?
To ask the Manager if he will provide a report on the works completed on the water supply infrastructure in and around Main Street, Lucan Village, if he will outline any consultations that took place with local business owners before the work commenced, and if he will report on the costs of the work and the source of funding?

To ask the Manager, further to the emergency motion proposed by me and approved by the May meeting, to outline a firm date for the final taking-in-charge of Griffeen Glen Boulevard and Courtyard given that the excessively lengthy delays continue to cause significant annoyance among local residents?
To ask the Manager if he will note the facilities, including the woodland walk, provided by Fingal County Council in the part of Lucan Demesne under its jurisdiction, and if he will request the Park's Department to examine the potential for measures to improve the variety of the public amenity in that part of the Demesne under the jurisdiction of South Dublin Country Council, with a view to bringing forward an enhancement plan and providing funding for the implementation of such plan in the 2012 Council Budget?
To ask the Manager, further to my question to the June meeting, to prioritise footpath improvements to Lucan Road between Esker Lane/Woodville and Ballydowd Grove as part of the 2012 footpath works programme?
To ask the Manager, further to the adoption of new parks bye-laws, to update on plans to provide a dog-run in Griffeen Valley Park?
That the Manager write to Greyhound Waste Management Company asking that the Black and Brown Bins be collected (within say two weeks) from householders who reside within this Committees electoral area who have indicated that they have switched to another provider. Many householders complain that they find it impossible to get Greyhound to remove these bins and surely this is in breach of the terms of sale under which they bought the service from South Dublin County Council.
