MOTION NO.4

MOTION: Councillor E. Tuffy

That this Council requests the Manager to report on the status of the Council's Climate Change Strategy adopted some time ago, including information on measures being implemented as part of the Climate Change Strategy, and noting the continuing delay in the Government publishing a National Climate Change Adaptation Strategy, requests the Manager to write to the Minister for Environment, Heritage and Local Government seeking information on the current position regarding the publication of the National Adaptation Strategy?

REPORT:

A progress report was presented to the Environment SPC at its meeting on 7th November 2011. All details in relation to the current status of the strategy are contained in that report.

It the motion is passed a letter will be written to the Minister for Environment, Heritage and Local Government in this regard.
