That the Manager would present a report on the current status of the provision of playgrounds in Balgaddy and an update on the site meeting on the 5th of October.  In light of the extreme dissatisfaction expressed by members of the Balgaddy Working Together Group at the Meet Your Local Politicians Forum in the Council Chambers on 27th of September, I wonder if their concerns in relation to the provision of playgrounds were addressed at the site meeting.

That the Manager would present a report on the current status of two derelict houses at 2 and 4 Lealand Walk.  Residents in this area have been forced to put up with a totally unacceptable situation over many years and it appears that no progress has been made.

That this Committee agrees to a complete poster ban in Clondalkin Village and requests that SDCC writes to all relevant groups (business, sporting, political, etc) informing them of this decision and asking for their co-operation.

Boundary to be determined but a suggestion would be not inside N7 - Fonthill Road - M50 and New Nangor Road.

That the Manager would present a report on the problem of dumping, fly tipping and littering in the Clondalkin electoral area and outline how Council staff are being deployed to deal with this problem.  I am most concerned that this issue is impacting severely on the quality of life of residents in the area.  What plans are in place to address the exacerbation of the problem that is bound to follow the end of the waiver scheme next year.

That this Committee in believing that enforcement has a huge role to play in tackling the escalating litter/dumping problem in the Clondalkin Electoral Area recommends the establishment of a mobile surveillance team(s) to patrol the county gathering evidence for prosecution purposes with particular emphasis on blackspots.

In following up an enquiry submitted to the Road's Department on June 16th, I am requesting that pedestrian facilities be placed at the location opposite Ballyowen Park on the Fonthill Road. The location is directly behind Rowlagh Avenue.  The response to a reply I received regarding the matter stated that the Traffic Section had carried out a count test at the location 18 months previously and concluded that the area did not warrant pedestrian facilities as it had a low count on the day in question.  However, I disagree as the location in question is frequently used by those involved in sport in the area and those in attendance at CASP. The area is also used by those travelling to the Fonthill Retail Park. From speaking with residents of the surrounding areas it is something that I think is necessary in the area.

I would like the Council to consider this proposal as it is something that is needed and would benefit the North Clondalkin area.
