That this Area Committee: NOTING that in the period 2007-2011 only 0.18% of the total capital expenditure by the Community Services Department was invested in Lucan despite the fact that according to the latest census the population increase in Lucan in the same period was more than twice that in the remainder of the county; FURTHER NOTING the need to ensure that sporting and recreational facilities, including the Lucan Sports and Leisure Centre, are operated on a financially sustainable basis, REQUESTS the Manager to examine my proposal (which I first introduced during discussions on my motion on boxing clubs at the March meeting) to provide an extension to the Lucan Sports and Leisure Centre to include additional floor space, both dedicated and multi-functional, for use by sports and recreation groups including in particular local boxing clubs and dance and fitness groups; and to seek to progress this proposed project for inclusion in the next Rolling Capital Programme.
That the Manager update members on the Allotments SDCC let to the public in this Committee area, with particular reference to the waiting list and the frequency of assessments.

That the Manager presents an up to date report on the progress in relocating the Parks Depot to the Griffeen Park be presented to the Lucan Area Committee and that a discussion take place on the matter.

To ask the Manager further to the response to Question No 2 at the January 18th Clondalkin Area Committee to provide an update on the issue of realignment of the Convent Road at the junction with the Fonthill Road?
That the Manager reports on litter warden services in Lucan and Palmerston and provides a list of areas (including laneways in Palmerston) that have been subject to litter blitzes in the past month or are earmarked for upcoming blitzes.
"That this Area Committee requests the Manager to engage with CPLN Area Partnership, Co. Dublin VEC, the County Enterprise Board & Enterprise Ireland to examine options for the provision of an Enterprise Centre and ‘jobs hub’ in the Lucan South/Adamstown area, in including through the leasing of currently vacant premises, for the purpose of initially providing physical space such as 'hot-desks' (and at later stage 'incubator units 'for business start-ups, in suitable premises) as well as providing a base for Local Employment Services and for training programmes run by CPLN Area Partnership, Co. Dublin VEC and other bodies."
That this Committee supports the speedy provision of specific and dedicated cycling routes in Tymon Park and encourages their use in the interests of safety, environmental sustainability and amenity for residents and commuters.

That this Area Committee requests the Manager, further to the briefing held in February on foot of my previous request, to present detailed proposals for provision of a safer and more efficient junction arrangement for motorists seeking to exit from Chalet Gardens on to Lucan Road.
That the Manager provides a detailed report on the exercise equipment being installed in parks throughout Lucan and Palmerston, what locations have been identified and what public consultation was entered into with local residents and organisations.
That this Area Committee requests the Manager to engage with local sporting clubs to examine the possibility of applying for Sports Capital Funding for the provision of additional playing pitches in the proposed extension of Griffeen Valley Park, south of the railway.
That the Manager gives a detailed report on grass cutting along the N4 at Palmerston and confirm what funding will be made available for cutting this strip given that the responsibility for its maintenance has been passed over to the Council.
That the Manager provide a detailed report on what steps can be taken to amend the Control of Parking Bye-Laws 2010 so that Palmerston Village currently subject to an ‘A’ tariff can be instead subject to an ‘A1’ tariff, and secondly to omit the ‘horseshoe’ residential area at Old Lucan Road from pay-parking, as per Motion 20 passed at the last Area Committee Meeting.
To ask the Manager for a report on plans for Family Days/other outdoor events planned by the Council for the Lucan Electoral Area during the summer period?
"To ask the Manager if SDCC has instructed a private contractor to examine the drains in Knockmore Park recently and if it has what is the purpose of these ongoing investigations and can the Manager make a statement on the matter?"
"To ask the Manager to investigate the feasibility of erecting a temporary CCTV camera in the vicinity of the roundabout at Old Bawn Avenue where illegal dumping continues and which appears to be increasing with a view to ceasing the activity at this location and hopefully identifying the culprits?"
To ask the Manager for an updated report on the Council's plans to install traffic signals at the large roundabout junction of St. Loman's Road/Fonthill Road, if it is intended that the system of traffic signals will provide for pedestrian crossing at the location, if the signals will enable pedestrian control and finally, an update on the Council's application to the NTA for funding for this project?
To ask the Manager if the Litter Wardens and Cleansing Section have been receiving increasing numbers of reports of illegal dumping in the Lucan EA in the period from 1st March until now?
