"That the Manager consider the request by Rathfarnham Boy Scouts to extinguish an area of land (approx. 18 metres) to the left of their Clubhouse on Marian Road. The land in question is in the open space linking Marian Road and Marian Grove/Butterfield Close. The Scouts require the strip of land to allow them to pitch tents at various times during the year and to increase the amount of outdoor activities that the organiser can engage the children in. The Rathfarnham Boy Scouts is the busiest in Ireland and currently have a waiting list of 80 children anxious to join. By extending the area it would allow the club to offer more activities to the children and accordingly to take in all children eager to join and eliminate the waiting list. The Scouts agree to absorb the cost of replacing the wall after it has incorporated the lands into theirs."
