That the Council directs the Chief Executive to include a policy on consultation with the owners of Riversdale House (WB Yeats) and their Agent, together with interested local and national organisations such as Knocklyon Network and the Modern Languages Department of TCD investigate whether a short or longer term compatible use can be found, such as a small museum, studies centre or room for the reading of poetry and plays.  A permanent use would help to ensure the ongoing preservation of the Protected Structure.

That the Council directs the Chief Executive to include a policy on the Walled Garden in Rathfarnham Castle.  Previous promises were made that it would become the Moore Garden in honour of Sir Frederick and Lady Moore who lived in Willbrook House by a previous SDCC Manager. Sir Frederick Moore was a Director/Curator of the National Botanic Gardens as was his father David Moore. Nothing has happened to move this project further despite its tourism potential. Residents have copies of the original planting scheme of Willbrook House so it is possible to recreate the famous Moore collection of plants. Other documentation is available in the National Botanic Gardens Archive.

The County Development Plan will, when considering planning decisions for new schools or extensions for existing schools, ensure adequate provision for set down and drop offs within the school development, to reduce the traffic congestion for surrounding communities

School transport & road safety

That this Council directs the Chief Executive to include an appropriate new policy, objectives and actions in the Development Plan to require implementation of 30kph speed limit zone on the roads around all schools in the County and to require that all planning permissions granted for new school developments (including extensions) include requirements for measure to ensure both safe walking and cycling routes are provided to the schools as well as safe and efficient drop-off arrangements for vehicular traffic.
