Mount Bellew, Lucan
That this Council directs the Chief Executive to strategically review the zoning of the lands at Mount Bellew Way, between Lucan Educate Together NS and Fforster Square, with a view to identifying the most effective and sustainable future land-use to meet the needs of the local community.
That this Council directs the Chief executive to incorporate Walkers and Cyclists on our street signage and to publish the distance and estimated walking/cycling time to reach key tourist attractions in the county
That the Council directs the Chief Executive to include a policy on consultation with the owners of Riversdale House (WB Yeats) and their Agent, together with interested local and national organisations such as Knocklyon Network and the Modern Languages Department of TCD investigate whether a short or longer term compatible use can be found, such as a small museum, studies centre or room for the reading of poetry and plays. A permanent use would help to ensure the ongoing preservation of the Protected Structure.
That this Council directs the CEO to include a Social Horse Project in the Plan to facilitate responsible horse ownership in the County.
That this Council directs the Chief Executive to consider support of fitness amongst our residents by introducing or incorporating signage to publish the “number of steps taken” and the KM for routes in our county frequented by a high number of walkers.
As an example, signage at Glendoher crossroads to read:
"To Rathfarnham Castle, 1.8KM, 5,000 steps"
That the Council directs the Chief Executive to include a policy on the remedial works needed for Cromwell’s Fort located in Rathfarnham Castle.
It is the policy of this Council to give provision to the development of Clondalkin Equine Club.
That the Council directs the Chief Executive to include a policy on the re-examination of pedestrian networks for health, convenience and sustainability of pedestrians, cyclists and public transport users, with proper signage for footpaths and local large scale maps of linked footpaths and public open spaces, together with signage of all street corners and roundabouts.
That the Council directs the Chief Executive to include a policy on the re-installation of the original Seismograph to its original location in Rathfarnham Castle.
Education – safe routes to school SDCC will seek to provide improved pedestrian links to and from all schools / colleges.
That this Council directs the CEO to identify, in the Development Plan, derelict sites across the county that can be used for community purposes.
That the Council directs the Chief Executive to include a policy that supports the Millennium Telescope to replace the original Jesuit Telescope should be installed in Rathfarnham Castle.
That this Council supports strict enforcement policies regarding the safety and upkeep of derelict sites and that the Development Plan be created in accordance with this objective.
That the Council directs the Chief Executive to include a policy on the Walled Garden in Rathfarnham Castle. Previous promises were made that it would become the Moore Garden in honour of Sir Frederick and Lady Moore who lived in Willbrook House by a previous SDCC Manager. Sir Frederick Moore was a Director/Curator of the National Botanic Gardens as was his father David Moore. Nothing has happened to move this project further despite its tourism potential. Residents have copies of the original planting scheme of Willbrook House so it is possible to recreate the famous Moore collection of plants. Other documentation is available in the National Botanic Gardens Archive.
The County Development Plan will, when considering planning decisions for new schools or extensions for existing schools, ensure adequate provision for set down and drop offs within the school development, to reduce the traffic congestion for surrounding communities
It is the policy of this Council to facilitate drop off points for parents at new schools in the county and where possible at existing schools.

School transport & road safety
That this Council directs the Chief Executive to include an appropriate new policy, objectives and actions in the Development Plan to require implementation of 30kph speed limit zone on the roads around all schools in the County and to require that all planning permissions granted for new school developments (including extensions) include requirements for measure to ensure both safe walking and cycling routes are provided to the schools as well as safe and efficient drop-off arrangements for vehicular traffic.
