To ask the Chief Executive how many people throughout the County have purchased their homes through the Shared Ownership scheme over the past 15 years before the system changed?
This Council expresses its deep disappointment at the social housing targets given to South Dublin County Council by the Minister for the Environment. We are particularly concerned that less than 10% of the proposed housing provision over the next three years will be Council housing. We do not believe that such a heavy reliance on subsidised private rented accommodation will meet the needs of individual families or our communities. We urgently call on the Minister to review these targets in favour of direct provision of social housing by South Dublin County Council.
That this Council calls on the Government to prioritise the South Dublin County Council administrative area for job creation initiatives noting the particular need to deal with unemployment throughout the county including the major population areas of Clondalkin, Lucan, Greenhills, Rathfarnham and the county town of Tallaght.
That this council writes to the Minister of Transport, Tourism and Sport Paschal Donohoe requesting that all previous National roads east of the M50 which were degraded are re-instated as national roads.

"To ask the Chief Executive whether a gate can be installed on the entry way between Glenmore Court and Whitechurch Walk. It is the only entry without gates and can be a hotspot for illegal dumping and anti social behaviour?"
"That this Committee instructs the Chief Executive to implement a temporary 3 month closure of Beechdale Avenue and Oakdale Park for all motor vehicles. The Chief Executive should carry out a full assessment over the 3 months period of the impact of such a closure and report back to this Area Committee on the results before a final decision is made on whether to close permanently these roads."
This motion calls on the Irish Government to:
• Protect Irish interests in the ongoing Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) negotiations between the EU and the US.
• Take all measures to remove Investor-State Dispute Settlements (ISDS) from the agreement.
• Take all measures to ensure that the terms of the living agreement cannot breach Irish legislation.
• Initiate a public debate on the consequences of TTIP on Ireland.
• Take all measures to protect Irish agriculture in TTIP negotiations.
This Council also affirms that we will not support any trade agreement that includes Investor-State Dispute mechanisms.
This Council recognises with vigilance the construction of a Regulatory Co-operation Council through TTIP and affirms the position that this body’s authority and remit should allow only for recommendation. Implementation of recommendations should be administered by those elected by and accountable to the citizens of Europe.
This Council does not support any trade mechanism that allows Irish law to be superseded for corporate interest."

That this Council notes that of the approximately 300 individuals who have complained about Garda handling / mishandling of various issues, which issues have been the subject of a review by a panel of seven Barristers set up by the Minister for Justice in or around September 2014, the complainants and / or their representatives have in many instances sent in specific letters to the Minister for Justice but have simply been met with general responses which do not deal with the specific queries raised, and this Council, in recognition of the very significant frustration and anguish suffered by the complainants in the absence of knowledge as to the process set out by the Minister hereby calls upon the Minister to ensure that specific responses to specific queries are given to the complainants and / or their representatives, as a matter of urgency.

This review should include creating a provision for the display of a sign, similar to that used in planning applications, to be erected by the applicant to allow local residents know of any application
