To ask the Chief Executive for an update in relation to Lucan Swimming Pool and planned steps and timescale for completion of the building project
To ask for an update in relation to the assessment of King John's Bridge and the making of a plan of works to conserve the bridge, and would it be possible to brief councillors at some stage on site, or at an area committee by the team tasked with conservation, so that councillors can be fully informed to them to update residents?
"To ask the Chief Executive to give a report to this Committee regarding the Window and Doors programme and would he inform the Committee how many Contractors are under tender, are employed for this work and how many requests from tenants for replacement windows and doors are as yet not completed?"
"To ask the Chief Executive to make a report to this Committee outlining what actions have been taken since the September meeting regarding the dumping of silt on the Wetlands in Watergate Park and will he explain to this Committee why the updated Public Statement, promised to this Committee, was not issued?"
That this Area Committee, in view of the numerous complaints from school management, parents and local residents regarding Anti Social activities at the bridge and pathway at the rear of Scoil Aonghusa, Castle Park, including the daily selling and storing of illegal drugs, the bonfires of stolen household rubbish and recycling bins and the large gathering of gangs at this part of the Thirty Acres, calls on the Chief Executive to take immediate action to address the issue of security, including CCTV, access and public lighting at this location.
"Following on from previous discussions at this Committee, to ask the Chief Executive to make a report regarding the provision of public toilets, including an accessible toilet, in Tymon Park at the Tymon North side of the Park?"
Anti Social Behaviour - Quarterly Statistics
To ask the Chief Executive to provide a clear breakdown on the money spent to date on works at King John's Bridge, Lucan and how much of the allocated €30,000 from participative budgeting funds is remaining.
That this council commends the work and value of community centres within our county and throughout the communities they serve.
We commit to writing to the Minister to request that Pobal Funding is looked and the rates paid are brought in line with the Living wage so that the wages reflect the invaluable community work staff do in delivering groups and other responsibilities , in particular working with vulnerable people and to ensure that community centres can compete in the Job market when retaining and recruiting staff.
We also ask SDCC to look how community centres are funded and staffed in our County Council and to investigate models used in other Councils and report back to council on this. We also request that SDCC continue to look at all ways to support this invaluable work and look at expanding community centres as hubs of our community and to keep this council updated.
