To ask the Manager to make a statement about the Council policy in relation to placing council officials on community and voluntary groupings? In his statement, could the Manager please define the role of Council staff  on such groupings, the instructions given to them, and explain whether, or not, that role has changed in recent times?

"That this Committee discuss the  improvements/essential repairs grant with a view to establishing its uptake in the Terenure Rathfarnham Area:

(a)  to list the services funded - how many of each?

(d) to state how many applicants in the Terenure Rathfarnham area were not funded;

“To ask the Manager if he would immediately liaise with Rathfarnham and Tallaght Garda Stations in connection with the problem concerning the pedestrian crossing on Killininny Road, Ballycullen, namely the fact that quite a large number of cars are not stopping as pedestrians cross the road, if he could outline what measures if any, the Roads Department could consider to highlight the importance of this pedestrian crossing on what is a very dangerous road where cars regularly speed, and if other speeding restriction measures can be put on this road close to the pedestrian crossing, and if he will make a statement on the matter?”

"That the Manager take on board the concerns of the Cherryfield Residents Association in relation to the ongoing dumping and fly-tipping in the laneways in Beechfield/Cherryfield, particularly the laneway from Beechfield Road to Cromwellsfort Road and will he devise a scheme to carry out clean-ups and resurfacing of all the laneways in the area, on a phased basis over the remainder of the term of the current Council, and will he consult with the members of the Cherryfield Residents Association in the next month to devise this plan and work out the implementation of the plan, so that the residents can reclaim their laneways for this own convenience."

That in the light of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child to which Ireland has signed up, and which includes the right of the child to engage in play and recreational activities appropriate to the age of the child, and the onus  the National Children's Office, the National Children's Plan and the National Play Policy place on local authorities to provide for children exercising this right, this Council should appoint a Play Officer as it is required to do under the National Play Policy.

That the Manager would report on progress made to resolve the residual works and issues causing the delay in the opening of the County's first Skate Park. Now that the substantive works have been completed for some considerable time, would the Manager seek a time-scale from the developers to complete the Skate Park so that it can be opened without further delays.
