Having visited the site I would share their concerns. I believe that emergency vehicles would have great difficulty getting in and out of the estate?"

"That the Manager give a report on what funding will be in place for the new community manager and youth officer for the refurbished Ballyroan community centre that is to open early next year."
That the Committee calls on the Manager to make a statement on the flood prevention, drainage and maintenance work carried out on the Poddle River in 2009. In particular can the Manager outline if work was not done as part of cutbacks which would normally have been carried out on a yearly basis up to this. Will the Manager guarantee this work will now be carried out as a matter of urgency and that flood prevention / drainage works will not be reduced as part of cutbacks in 2010. Failure to carry out this work could put houses in Osprey at risk of Flooding.

To ask the Manager if there is ongoing mapping and a review of ownership and conditions of laneways in the County being carried out particularly in Tallaght area by this Council and when a report will be available to elected members?
To ask the Manager if he will give a report outlining how many empty boarded up houses he hopes to allocate and have occupied before the New Year?
To ask the Manager is he aware, in this climate of cuts in services, of the proposed reduction of Ambulance Services in Tallaght Fire Station and in view of the large population in this catchment area, that is reliant on this quick and immediate service, will he outline to the relevent authorities this Councils concern at this proposal?
To ask the Manager in view of the ongoing incursions of stolen cars and anti social elements into the lands of the proposed LUAS route will the manager agree to contact the RPA and ask them to establish greater security in order to prevent infilltration and ease the unnescessary burden on local residents living alongside the proposed route?
To ask the Manager is he aware of in of the growing and obvious difficulty experienced by individuals or couples currently in Affordable 1 or 2 bed Accomomadation and with arrival of more children, their need to move more spacious accomodation, will the manager in conjuntion with interested parties draw up new proposals with a view to making a submission to the Minister for Environment seeking flexability and more positive and realistic change in this area?
To ask the Manager to present a full report on the rolling out of the Brown Bin in South Dublin, including time scales on an area by area basis. Would the Manager also provide details of which associated facilities will be included with the Brown Bin, including for example the Kitchen Caddy as is already available in a neighbouring Local Authority?
That the Manager detail the flood management plan in place for county, how this compares to previous years and to guarantee that flood prevention work will continue.
That this Council notes the paragraph on page 45 of the National Climate Change Strategy 2007-2012 : " As part of a comprehensive policy position on climate change, the Government is committed to developing a national adaptation strategy over the next two years. This strategy will provide a framework for the integration of adaptation issues into decision making at national and local levels." The Council requests the Manager to write to the Minister for Environment, Heritage and Local Government urging the early publication of the "national adaptation strategy", so that individual Councils can develop locally relevant adaptation strategies and implementation plans, and in particular so that SDCC can, as the National Climate Change Strategy states " provide in the County Development Plan "that areas at risk of flooding may be regulated, restricted and controlled."
To ask the Manager if he will provide a report outlining all measures implemented by this Council, throughout the county, since January 2001 to prevent flooding, such as the flood prevention works on the Griffeen River in Lucan, and if an evaluation of the effectiveness of the works carried out has been done?
To ask the Manager if if he will make a report on any interaction between the Council and the Office of Public Works since July 2007 relating to the appointment by the Government of the "office of Public Works as the lead agency to implement flooding policy in Ireland", and if the OPW has contacted the Council in regard to " developing a strategy to manage flood risk in conjunction with other relevant agencies" as set out on page 45 of the Government's National Climate Change Strategy 2007-2012, published in 2007?
That the Manager outlines the Council’s current position regarding the redevelopment of the Square and the actions taken by this Council to assist in its commercial redevelopment to ensure future substantial job creation in the Town Centre.
To ask the Manager if he will make a report on works undertaken by the Council on an ongoing basis to clear out the surface water drainage systems in the county, such as the clearing work done in and around Lucan village in August 2008?
To ask the Manager if any funding has been provided to the Council since 2007 to carry out works on the county's rivers, including the Liffey, Dodder, Camac and Griffeen, to reduce the risks of the rivers causing flooding, and if he will make a statement?
