That this Committee calls on the Manager to give an update regarding the closure of the top of the laneway between Castletymon Shopping Centre/rear of Castletymon Library and the infill houses at St Aongus Crescent, as this location is rapidly becoming an antisocial blackspot.

That this Committee calls on the Manager, in view of the ongoing traffic problems and the obvious danger to motorists exiting and entering the shopping centre opposite Raheen/Whitebrook Estates, to carry out an investigation into possible measures that could be introduced to improve safety at this busy neighbourhood centre.

That the Manager carry out an inspection of the footpaths and in particular the damage caused  to them by large trees in Glendown. Due to the the poor state of many of these footpaths that their repair be included in this years footpath repair programme.

 That the Manager arrange for the installation of a yellow box and a flashing “children crossing” sign at the junction of Wainsfort Grove and College Drive. Exiting from Wainfort Grove onto College Drive is dangerous because of the difficulty in seeing traffic on College Drive due to a bend in the road. This has been exacerbated since the opening of the Daisy chain Montessori school and crèche in the area.

That this Council Committee, concerned at the level of illegal dumping at the rear of Kilmartin Avenue and Drive towards Roadstone, the ongoing problems with anti social behaviour, the condition of the laneway, the fire remains and glass on many of the green spaces, notes the delay in supplying the residents with bags and pickers for a clean up and  agrees to  call on the Manager to organise an onsite meeting in the area.

To ask the Manager to examine any street naming and numbering schemes, agreed as part of planning compliance, applying to the relevant parts of both the Ballydowd Manor and Esker Woods developments in Lucan for the purposes of investigating how two nearby rows of houses, one in each development, ended up each being named Willsbrook Road with a small number of houses in both rows sharing common house numbers resulting in the regular incorrect delivery of post to the serious nuisance of residents; and to further ask if the Manager would consult with the small number of affected residents, with an Post and with the Corporate Services Department’s (who maintain the Electoral Register and list of addresses) to seek to identify an appropriate resolution to this matter?
