That the Manager outline what service will be provided to residents groups who wish to ensure that bonfires are not built on public green areas for Halloween. In particular that the Orwell Residents Association who have through much hard effort on their part prevented the annual destruction of the Green and saved the Council money in not having to reinstate this green.

That this Council, in light of the severe inconvenience caused to many local residents due to the non-collection of bins on the August Bank Holiday and the increased health and safety risk caused by delays in collecting the newly-introduced brown bins, calls for the implementation of either (a) Bank Holiday Monday refuse collections or (b) the organisation of alternative collections for residents missing out on collections due to Bank Holidays, in advance of the October Bank Holiday.

That this Committee calls on the Manager to request service providers such as the ESB, Eircom, NTL and Dublin Bus to take appropriate action to repair and enhance their properties i.e. substations and bus shelters in the West Tallaght area to provide a positive and attractive element to the local community - suggestions such as creating mural art on ESB substations etc to be explored.
