That this Committee, recognising the magnificent ongoing work in promoting local history in Tallaght from the Local Studies section of the Council, the Tallaght Historical Society, and other groups and individuals, and in line with the objective in the Council's Heritage Plan 2010-2015 to "provide information to raise awareness, appreciation and enjoyment of the County's heritage," asks the Library Service to liaise with the County Heritage Officer, local historical groups, schools and other interested organisations with a view to offering talks on local history in the area of this Committee east of the M50, i.e. Greenhills, Templeogue, Perrystown, etc.

• restates our request to the Minister for Education and Skills to update his Department's five year school building plan to correct the omission of five Lucan primary schools which are in serious need of permanent extensions and/or refurbishment;
• again extends an invitation to officials of the Department’s ‘Planning & Building Unit’ to meet with this Committee to review the Department’s policy towards primary school developments in the Lucan area; and
• further expresses to the Minister our support for the proposed development by Stewart’s Hospital of a Special Primary School at Rosse Court. "

"Noting the Reply to Question 6 at the January 2013 Lucan Area Committee meeting, this Committee requests the Manager to meet with Lucan EA Councillors at an early date to discuss proposals for the location of Taxi Ranks and Taxi Waiting Areas in Lucan Village, so that a final proposal can be brought to the March meeting of the Area Committee."

That this Committee requests urgent action to address the disgraceful condition of the grass bank areas adjacent to the M50, N7 and Luas Red Cow Car Park. This area is disgracefully filthy with litter and could also be enhanced with a landscaping/planting scheme as it is a major infrastructural feature of our county
