To ask the Chief Executive that given the excellent Round Tower development plan , what can be done regarding a campaign to get people in and from the area to donate memorabilia/items to a museum/display within the development. That this Committee agree to write to the National Monuments Service and ask that the St Josephs Graveyard be assessed and added to National Inventory of Architectural Heritage (Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht), Also to list all Protecteded Structure under the current County Development Plan and list all Recorded Monuments under the Record of Monuments and Places, which is maintained by the National Monuments Service in the Clondalkin area.

Given on-going concerns that this Committee asks for an update from the Minister on the situation regarding the Towers and the system that is called Direct Provision that is being carried out within the towers , also that the minister for Equality , Justice and Law Reform arrange for an inspector to do a full report on quality of life within the Towers and update the committee on when this system will be changed as a matter of urgency, also to make a report on the current status of people living there ie how many ? how long? and current alyssum status?

Given the announcement by Alan Kelly Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government  that the Target to end homelessness by 2016 I want to ask the Chief Executive for a report how SDCC will ensure this happens and what plans are in place to deal with this growing issue? also how much has the ministers department given to tackle the issue to SDCC and how much has central government provided SDCC to build Housing?

To ask the Chief Executive, following South Dublin County Council's decision to waive its fee for installing “children at play” signage in residential estates within the local authority, can a report be given to how many signs have been put up and give a timetable as when to areas will be done and plans to roll this out throughout SDCC?

That this Council writes to the Minister for Health seeking clarification as to why the H.S.E. is downgrading the ratio mix for the care of vulnerable patients from a 50:50 to a 40:60 basis. That we reiterate the questions posed by the INMO in this matter. On what evidence is a skill mix of 40:60 based on?

  1. What autonomy / authority does the person in charge (Director of Nursing) have in relation to staffing levels and skill mix?
  2. Why are the HSE proceeding with this overtly cost cutting exercise in one of the most vulnerable patient groups in the health service?
  3. What risk assessment was carried out in all areas prior to this instruction to cut staff in such numbers?
