Update on Playspace Programme 2014-2018
That this Tallaght Area Committee regrets the recent closure of the Abberley Court Hotel involving the loss of 72 local jobs and calls on the Chief Executive to co-ordinate a response to the needs of the workers and also to discuss with other local interests the possibility of the hotel re-opening.
That this Tallaght Area Committee welcomes the Tallaght Village Initiative Scheme and calls on the Chief Executive to confirm the schedule being followed and also stating what action he is now taking to minimise the negative impact of the works on the community and local business.
"Subsequent to the reports of rat infestation in the Lucan Ward (details can be provided) that the Chief Executive give an update on this matter and inform the council what practices are currently in place and how they can be improved."
"That the Chief Executive liaise with Dublin Bus to ensure that there is enough public transport available to take concert goers both into town and over to Dundrum. Part of the problem that residents, including myself, encounter is the crowds wandering around trying to exit the area. Dublin Bus do provide extra no.16s but the lack of transport is a problem every year."
"That this Area Committee considers the feasibility of installing angling stands including wheelchair accessible angling stands along the river Liffey in Waterstown Park, Palmerstown. Considering there is an excellent car park facility and good safe pathways down to the waterfront this could be an ideal location for a recreational angling facility."
"That this Area Committee calls on the Chief Executive to present a detailed report, for discussion, on progress in finalising the ‘Lucan Access Study’, including plans for the Lucan Road corridor and measure to improve traffic flow at Newcastle Road, including changes to traffic signals and the SuperValu roundabout."
"Given the residential population around Griffeen park that this council provides an update on the initial suitability review of a MUGA in Griffeen Park and confirms next steps to progress this."
