2016 COMMEMORATIONS GRANTS
That this Council calls on the Chief Executive to present an update on the progress being made in this County, since the announcement made by Ministers Alan Kelly TD and Paudie Coffey TD on May 5 last, in respect of the projects which were approved to kick start the major social housing construction programme to be built as part of phase 1 of the social housing strategy and will he detail in his statement the exact progress made on each of the 7 projects in this County which were included in that announcement and totalled 203 units at a cost of 40.8 million euros and also include estimates of when the units will be completed and available for occupation and will he also supply full details, by grade and department, of the proportion of the "approximately 3,000 additional housing staff in local authorities including planners and architects" (as stated by the Ministers) involved in delivering the programme in this County and so demonstrate that this County is seriously and aggressively tackling, in the words of the Ministers, this housing crisis and confirm that it will have an impact on housing waiting lists.
"To ask the Chief Executive, further to previous clarification at an ACM meeting that a combined sports hall and community building at the Adamstown SDZ would be the preferred choice, to outline what process is required to ensure that one larger building rather than two smaller buildings get built following any resolution of the funding dispute delaying progress on the sports hall element?"
"To ask the Chief Executive, for an update on the site meeting to discuss outstanding traffic issues on Lucan Road in the vicinity of St Andrew's NS, Roselawn and Chalet Gardens following the passing of my motion last month?"
"To ask the Chief Executive if he will prioritise hedge cutting in Elm Wood (Griffeen Valley) estate in Lucan, as per membersreps representations 1127721 and 1092324, as it was indicated works will take place to clear the hedgerow in question "in the autumn". Given the delay from the original February date, could an indication be given that this will be done imminently, preferably by the time this question is answered, as my query was not clarified within a reasonable period from my membersreps submission and the resident who raised the issue has now been in touch with me four times?"
"To ask the Chief Executive to report on the latest clean-ups in back lanes in Palmerstown, to update on what areas are planned in the next schedule and also to outline the procedure whereby residents backing onto each lane (assuming 100% support) would be able to apply for closure of right of way and be facilitated in setting up lockable gates at either end of their stretch of laneway?"
"To ask the Chief Executive if the welcome decision facilitated by the Chief Executive and Councillors to allocate €400,000 surplus 2015 funding to bring the Lucan Swimming Pool to "shovel-ready" stage implicitly confirms that the pool plan will now be re-inserted into the rolling three-year-budget programme following on from consistent representations from this Councillor and colleagues (while also acknowledging the need for national funding), or whether the elected members need to do anything else as part of the upcoming budgetary process to ensure this happens?"
