That this Council calls on the Minister for Justice to introduce proper legislation around gambling laws in this Country, we have not seen this addressed by any Minister for Justice.  This is one of the most hidden addictions in our Country, advertising on line gambling, under age gambling, we get no revenue from on line gambling under the current laws.  The laws date back to 1913 with amendments in 1956 it's time for proper legislation.

"That this Council calls on the Government and the HSE to authorise the drug Kuvan for those living with Phenylketonuria(PKU) in Ireland.

PKU is a rare genetic disorder. Ireland has one of the highest rates of the condition in the world. Kuvan is currently available in twenty European countries."

"That this area committee calls on management as part of ongoing footpath repairs in Lucan village and Palmerstown to install guidance strips for visually impaired residents along our walkways. An example of the implementation of this is Grafton Street with Dublin City Council promoting the initiative. To also further make sure sandwich boards are not placed outside of businesses outside of planning regulations which hinder access for all pedestrians."

"This committee supports the Clondalkin Drugs and Alcohol task force ‘’Alcohol Strategy’’.   We are mindful of Ireland's unhealthy relationship with alcohol and the effects of excessive drinking on our Families , Friends , Children , Community and our Nation’s Health.  In this regard we will commit to taking the following steps:

1)      We ask the Planners of SDCC not to permit any further shops/off licences that increase availability of alcohol in the Clondalkin area.

2)      We ask SDCC Planning Department, in relation to the Clonburris SDZ that we as a Council limit alcohol places of sale as much as possible       and where there are places is not near community centre, sports facilities and schools.

3)      We ask that SDCC run a campaign to educate and inform on the dangers of excessive drinking.

4)      We reaffirm our support for The Public Health (AlcoholBill in its entirety and commit to writing to minister to express this.

5)       We commit to write to the relevant minister to stop alcohol been sold in Garages as a further step in reducing risk."
