A) Letter RECEIVED from Mr Batt O'Keefe, Minister for Education, in response
to correspondence sent to him, as a result of a Motion passed at the
Tallaght(2) ACM on 24th November 2008 regarding 'Cuts in funding for
schools in the Tallaght area'.
B) Letter RECEIVED from Dublin Bus, in response to correspondence sent, as
a result of a Motion passed at the Tallaght(2) ACM on 1st October 2007,
requesting the provision of a seat at the Bus shelter at St Maelruans Park.

This committee calls on the Manager to write to the owners of a site on Killinarden Heights to highlight concerns of the Members at the incursion of the site by motorbikes/quads in order to address the concerns of local residents who are considerably impacted by this activity on a daily basis in terms of noise pollution, destruction of green space and pedestrian safety etc. and to ask what measures they intend to take to secure this site against such activity.
That this committee supports the hosting of an informal reception for the two students, Matthew Carpenter and Karl Ussher who were hailed as heroes by local papers and the public at large for intervening in the attack on a bus driver in Cork street on the weekend of the 11th January and the matter be discussed.
That the members of this Committee support a request to the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Ms. Coughlan, for a meeting to outline the need for new industries for Tallaght, given the recent loss of employment in the area.

That the Manager as a matter of urgency assesses the entrance/exit point onto the roads from Killinarden Community School in terms of pedestrian and student safety with a view to implementing whatever measures are necessary to address concerns raised by the school.
That a comprehensive traffic management plan be prepared in advance of the opening of Tallaght Stadium later this year so as to ensure neighbouring residential estates are not adversely affected.
