"That this Area Committee calls on the National Transport Authority to establish a bus link from the villages of Rathcoole and Newcastle, Co Dublin to the train station at Hazelhatch. Although the train station is relatively close by road to Newcastle, the road is considered far too dangerous for cyclists and pedestrians to use regularly for commuting. There is no footpath for the most of the Hazelhatch Road. The route has been included in the Bus Connects plans with the W8 bus but this may be years away."

"That this Area Committee agrees to the installation of a soccer goalpost on the Green of Lealand Estate. Members Rep 1518460 stated that a goalpost would be installed on the green of the estate during Q1/Q2 of 2020. Members Rep Query 1557709 submitted on 21/7 as a follow up request has not been replied to. The residents association appreciate that COVID has delayed many things but are wondering if this could be expedited so as to allow the footballers of the estate enjoy it for some part of the summer/autumn."
During the massive struggle that has been waged by ex- Debenhams workers across the companies 11 stores in Ireland the deficit of workers protection in liquidations has again been sharply exposed. This Council calls for the immediate implementation of the Duffy/Cahill Report, complied in 2016 in the aftermath of The Clerys dispute- as one way of strengthening workers rights and tackling the legal outs provided to major corporations who engage in tactical liquidations in order to avoid their obligations under hard won workers’ rights. If passed this Council communicates such in writing to Government, to all Local Authorities and to the ICTU offering its support for implementation.

Minutes of Meeting 14th May 2020
Matters Arising
That the Council take measures to deal with an upsurge in anti-social behaviour and related litter at [the green space beside the pedestrian walkway into Castle Riada Drive nearest the Penny Hill] as local residents are fed up having to clean this up constantly themselves and phone the Gardaí on a regular basis and are suggesting closing off this permeability access or trimming back the hedgerow to waist height; and, if necessary, could a Covid-friendly site meeting be arranged if necessary to discuss this matter on the ground.
Moved Without Debate

Given that SDCC provides extensive supports to Sports Clubs support should be extended to arts and culture clubs too."
