To ask the Chief Executive if Hillcrest Way can be prioritised by the contractor as part of the upcoming scheduled works for Hillcrest in 2021 and especially outside 53/55 as there have been multiple reports to this rep of people being injured at this location, even after a temporary fix?
"That the Chief Executive looks into limiting heavy goods vehicles on the Lower Commons Road to JM Transport, Kingswood, Baldonnell."
In light of the increasing litter problem in our parks, that this Area Committee requests that the installation of bins in Dodder Valley Park be expedited and a timeframe given.
This council notes the fantastic amenity that Corkagh, Tymon and Griffeen Parks are to the county and the important role that they have played during the pandemic period. Issues regarding maintenance of the parks on Sunday's have been highlighted by regular park users. To ensure their continued success, this council will organise that the parks’ litter bins are regularly emptied on Sunday’s and Bank Holiday’s and will also ensure that the bins are not allowed to overflow with waste.
"This Area Committee notes that in August 2020 within the bird nesting season, contractors hired by South Dublin County Council, entered the wooded area (address supplied) owned by South Dublin County Council, and proceeded to use chainsaws to remove undergrowth and in the process damaged trees there. This Area Committee would like to know if it is good practice to use chainsaws to remove undergrowth in wooded areas during the nesting season?"

"This meeting notes that the response to Question 12 at the February 2021 meeting of South Dublin County Council has clarified that SDCC are responsible for maintenance of the cycle and pedestrian bridge over the N7 at the Red Cow, the ramps leading to the bridge and the section between the Red Cow Luas Terminal and the ramps. This meeting further notes the incidence of empty beer cans, broken glass, used nitrous oxide capsules, graffiti and other assorted waste that litter this vital piece of infrastructure. This meeting calls on South Dublin County Council to have the infrastructure cleaned."

In view of the increased footfall across all of the major Parks in the County, could the Manager inform this Council if there is a plan in place to increase the amount of times that litter bins are emptied in all Park, especially over the busy times, such as the weekends and Public Holidays. The public perception is that the Council ignores the overflowing bins in the Parks and this negative publicity is being repeated on Social Media posts.
That the Chief Executive provides a detailed report on the council owned lands along the canal 12th lock area and includes maps marking the buildings that are council owned and inform members what timeframe is in place to turn this section of the canal into a tourist / community amenity. Also ask if this could be agreed to be sent to relevant SPC as an agenda item. Including link to the recently launched greenway
