Letter, dated 4th June 2008 from Listowel Town Council regarding motion passed in relation to the putting in place by Listowel Town Council of a policy re future housing stock for elderly/living alone being fitted with 'peep-holes' in front doors.
"To ask the manager if there are plans to fence off the green space in front of Ely Crescent in the event that a bus parking bay is not located there? To further ask that if there are currently no plans that the manager will consider such a request?"

That the Manager give details the sites in Tallaght that have been deemed to be derelict since the commencement of this Council term.
To thank the Manager for all the consultation and preparation during the last number of years in providing Lucan's 1st Youth Café. This facility promises to be of enormous benefit to the young people of this Community. Would the Manager please report in detail on what additional financial support this Project expects to receive, including from the Health Services Executive, to provide additional and necessary staffing for Lucan's 1st Youth Café in addition to the great support from the Youth Services and the Volunteer Sector, so that Lucan's 1st Youth Café will be made available on a more regular basis to the young members of our community, in the same way as the Gaff for example, the established Youth Café in Galway, continues to receive such financial support from the Health Services Executive in that region for such staffing requirements. It is through more regular opening hours and associated staffing supervision, that Lucan's 1st Youth Café can achieve its full potential in supporting our young people with this facility in an alcohol and drug free environment.
That the Manager would present a detailed and up-to-date report following my earlier requests, including the feasibility for a Horse Project in the Clondalkin area. Since my most recent representations, there is now increased ownership of horses in the Quarryvale and North Clondalkin areas and local residents, including many young people, have no safe and appropriate facilities where these horses can be kept and cared for.
This Committee calls for the erection of signs at the entrances to Ballycragh estate warning cars to slow down in consideration of children at play.

“To ask the Manager in respect of a request to have a yellow box provided at the entrance to the Verschoyle Housing Estate in Saggart on the City West Road, if he can outline what progress has occurred in respect of this proposal since it was first mooted, and the likely timeframe involved before the yellow box in question will be established, and if he will make a statement on the matter.”

That the Council conducts a plebiscite, or take other steps, to eliminate the confusion about the signposting of PALMERSTOWN as the name PALMERSTON is not acceptable to the people of this area and that this confusion be officially cleared up by January 2009.

That this committee, noting the patience and forbearance generously given in, the name of the common good of the residents of Hollyville, The Coppice, Glenpark, Heather Grove and Palmers Manor during the construction phase of the M50 upgrade at and around the N4 Palmerstown Intersection, note their ongoing serious concerns about the boundary treatment and unfinished remedial work, calls on the Manager responsible to address these concerns and mindful of the fact that this was/is a design and build project that he consult with the residents who have had their natural boundary demolished with consequent loss of security and/or who due to the raised contours of the road now suffer severe loss of privacy and/or who due to the design of the barriers are now exposed to vandalism and anti-social behavior and/or who have had their property dominated by huge gantry’s without any prior notice and/or whose open space and landscape has been left in a most unfinished manner, despite promises to the contrary including that it would be restored to full community use by June 2007 and which as of now is not fully restored, and that the Committee empathises with the residents concerned and acknowledges their contribution to progress and the common good while agreeing that there is a point beyond which they should not be expected to suffer.

To ask the Manager if there has been any correspondence from the Minister for Education and Science in relation to actions taken by the Department to secure a new site for St. Andrew's National School, Lucan, as referred to in Qu(3) of the Area Committee Meeting of 16 April 2008?
