RAMS have liased with school teachers to provide children with a practical insight into growing your own vegetables. RAMS are a benefit to the school, and entire community of Newcastle.

"That this Committee has the view that the Lucan Electoral Area is disadvantaged, compared to other Electoral Areas in the County, in the provision for residents of community facilities (it has no Civic Centre, no Council Swimming Pool, only one Sports and Leisure Centre) and requests the Manager to provide a report on Council owned /supported community and sports facilities in the Lucan Electoral Area, and requests the Manager to pursue every possible avenue, including negotians with NAMA, to provide a Community Sports Hall at Adamstown Community College."
