That this Council supports the establishment of a County Wide Competition in Partnership with the Arts office and the Library Services that would seek entrants for the production of a piece of Street Art or Sculpture to commemorate the 1916 Rising which would be unveiled in a prominent place within the County Town in the centenary year of 2016.  That this Council would also investigate what grants are available to fund such a scheme.

To ask that Management explore and pilot test opportunities and means of communicating with the general public so that Council initiatives on such occasions as Halloween, Social Credit System, Seminars, Review of Policy e.g. on litter, parks, parking bye-laws etc. as there is a significant disconnect between the LA and the population it serves that cannot be addressed in an urban environment by public representatives alone?

That this Council criticizes the failure of successive governments to publish a national strategy and policy on Climate Change Adaptation, and requests the Manager to write to the Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government conveying this view and calling for the early publication of a National Strategy on Climate Change Adaptation.
