Can the Council provide any update from the motion below that was agreed at the November area committee, giving that the St Patricks day parade is just over two months away?

If there is no update how would the Council suggest I progress this issue?

"This Committee agrees that as the Clondalkin St Patrick's Day festival is funded by the Council that all Councillor's in the Clondalkin LEA  be invited to sit on the organizing committee and that a full report be presented to committee by the officials on last years events including all funding and expenditure etc. The committee also agrees that Council staff should be on the committee and minutes should be publicly available."

"This committee commends the great work done by the Council in partnership with Clondalkin Tidy Towns on the 1916 Memorial Garden.  It requests that this work be complemented by ensuring that proper flag poles and plinth be installed, and that suitable lighting be installed to highlight this beautiful monument.

In tandem with this, could the planting on the Fonthill Road from it's junction with Boot Road be upgraded, with the shrubs under the wall of the St Brigid's Road houses being replaced.  This will be an important walkway to the memorial garden from the village and needs to be upgraded.  Similarly, the planting on the walkway up to St Brigid's Well needs to be replaced so that this whole historic quarter will be upgraded".

"This committee calls on the banks to improve their service to customers in the village area.  The Bank of Ireland and Permanent TSB relocated from the village and now an in-shop ATM in the village has been withdrawn.  We call on these banks to install an in shop ATM in the village centre so that elderly customers in particular will have a safe place to use an ATM machine provided by their own bank.

We also urge banks to improve their service to customers who do not wish to do their banking on-line and to give courteous personal service to it's elderly customers in particular".

"Molann an Coiste seo go dtugtar áit lárnach, feiceaileach di thenaga agus cultúir na Gaeilge i gcultúrlann nua an chloigtí i gCluain Dolcáin.  Go dtuga Brú Chrónáin air agus go mbéadh sé mar chroílár cheantair nua na Gaeilge sa shráidbhaile".

"The committee recommends that the Irish language and Irish culture would have a central and visible place in the new Round Tower Visitor Centre. That the centre would be named Brú Chrónáin and that it would be the heart of a new Irish language cultural quarter in the village of Clondalkin".

"Could we have an update on the situation with regard to the planning application for housing at St John's Road.   SD16A/0317.

During the interim period, residents would like boulders or some other type of barrier to be erected at the entrance to the old commons lane at the St John's Road end in order to deter those who have been dumping rubbish on an industrial scale in this laneway.

This committee requests that the planning process for this development could be completed without delay.  The development had the universal backing of the community and of public representatives.  There is a critical shortage of housing for sale in the village area.  It is difficult to explain, in this time of housing shortage, why this development is taking so long.

Could this delay be explained in layman's language please".
