CONFIRMATION AND RE-AFFIRMATION OF MINUTES
a) Minutes of Meeting 9th April 2018
"To ask the Chief Executive, further to my motions raised in relation to the realignment of the island at the two roundabouts along the Esker Road/Griffeen road, this Area Committee requests the Chief Executive to design additional safety features at both of these locations. As previously discussed the old islands on the roundabouts were left in place when a new desired crossing location was installed with the cycle lane upgrades. These locations have a very high footfall in the evenings and the weekends and are also used regularly by school going children.
To ask that considerations is also given to the lack of a footpath on one side of the road if this area could be improved."
"That the Chief Executive addresses traffic going right onto Station Road from Ninth Lock Road at Esso Station. Perhaps remove 5 foot off the footpath, which is very wide. Trucks turning right hold up all the traffic on the Ninth Lock Road."
"To ask the Chief Executive to locate speed indicator signs in locations previously raised as areas with safety issues:
-
Esker Road between Griffeen Park and Finnstown Abbey, the bend in the road results in a blind spot when exiting the estate and this location has had an increase in footfall due to the sports activities in the area.
-
Hillcrest Junction this is due to the lack of awareness and or carelessness of road users as they approach and leave the lights at this junction.
-
Other areas that the council management deem necessary."
"That this Area Committee requests the Chief Executive to write to Respond Housing asking that they assist the residents in Moyglas Lucan with their attempts to have their location/address included in google maps."
"That this Area Committee notes the roundabout on the outer ring road between Kissogue and Adamstown is extremely busy at peak times, with drivers not yielding to let others enter the roundabout. With this situation happening, can I request yellow boxes for this roundabout."
"To ask the Chief Executive for an update on the double yellow lines which have been approved for Palmerstown Village some time ago?"
"That this Area Committee notes that following the bad snow back in March, some very big potholes have emerged on the Lucan Road From St Ed's to Chapel Hill. Can we request that these be repaired soon."
"That this Area Committee, following a request from the tidy towns people in Palmerstown agree to create a pollinator friendly shrub/flowerbed at the Palmerstown village name stone, to complement the other work done by the tidy towns."
"That this committee requests a detailed report on the history of litter fines issued to businesses in Clondalkin Village."
"That this Area Committee requests the Chief Executive provide and updated reported on the plans for Pavilion Construction Programme 2015 – 2017 which were to be introduced into the Griffeen Park, and to make further comment on considering similar pavilions for use by local groups or organisations in the area."
"Further to my previous question (item 57302) regarding the design of a new gap between both Paddocks and Hillcrest, this Area Committee requests Chief Executive to advise how an application can be prepared and to make plans to consult with members of both residents association to carry out a public consultation."
"Following my recent motion and further discussions with Lucan Harriers regarding the deficit in funding for the perimeter needed to secure the newly planned running track which will be of great benefit to the Lucan and surrounding area, this Area Committee asks the Chief Executive to arrange a meeting with the relevant persons to discuss funding. The proposed grants offered will be either too late or result in the club having to provide 50% to cover the costs which is not possible considering the additional unforeseen costs already placed on the club?"
"That this Area Committee askes the Chief Executive to examine the bottle banks located on Griffeen road between Moy Glas and Castle Riada. This area is subjected to ongoing illegal dumping. The introduction of CCTV to be also considered. This committee commends the park rangers for their part in constantly arranging pickup of the rubbish that is located at hot spots in the Lucan and Palmerstown area at the request of residents and local councillors."
"That this Area Committee request the Chief Executive report on existing and planned Traveller-specific group housing and/or halting site provision required within the Lucan Electoral Area over the next five years; To outline whether any families currently living at a number of dangerous roadside locations are under the Council's duty of care and therefore require emergency accommodation as a matter of urgency; and if a statement can be made on the matter."
"To ask the Chief Executive to please schedule cleansing and environmental works at roundabout at the Lucan/Leixlip road which is currently overgrown and unsightly."
"To ask the Chief Executive to report on the current status of the report on the update of the Weston Aerodrome Planning Framework?"
