That this Area Committee calls for the completion of the soundproofing and cladding work performed on the R136 adjacent to the Foxborough Estate, so that is in line with the side adjacent to the Moy Glas and Castle Riada estates and consistent with that adjacent to the Abbeywood estates.
That the Chief Executive undertake an audit of traffic movements, including speed, between the entrance/exit points of the Oval/R148 and Wheatfield road/Kennelsfort road junction to present engineering solutions to the long standing issues affecting the inner cell of Palmerstown.
That the Chief Executive requests a full review be carried out into requests by residents (the subject of several motions and questions over the years) for a 3.5T restriction on Kennelsfort Rd, and on the “Cell” between the R148 at the Oval and Kennelsfort road. To include the decision of the full Council (H.12 {11} July 2015) to have a 3.5T restriction on Kennelsfort Rd and the decision of the then Lucan LAC (November 2016 Item ID: 51367) to impose a 3.5T restriction on the cell between the Oval and Kennelsfort Road, neither of which have been acted upon. And that a full report be brought before this LAC for consideration at the October 2019 meeting.
That the Chief executive undertakes an urgent review of wheelchair accessibility including dishing in the Whitechurch, Glenmore Park, Palmer Park, Pearse Bros Pk, Whitechurch Road area.
That the Chief Executive organises a meeting between Gardaí and local residents to discuss ongoing issues of serious anti-social behaviour in the Daletree Estate in Ballycullen.
"To ask the Chief Executive, with regard to the much publicised destruction of wet lands at Watergate Park, to please answer the following questions?
- What steps, if any, can or will be taken to reduce the damage and increase the chances of the area recovering over time?
- When will the significant amount of rubbish now dumped in Watergate Park be removed and dealt with in a suitable way?
- Was this work carried out by Council staff or contracted staff, and what advice and instruction were they given regarding the work and the surrounding environment?
- How will the Council ensure that all future work in the county is carried out with due respect to the local environment?
- Was any consideration given to discussing work in the area with local experts who have effectively led the discovery, understanding and awareness of this ecologically significant area?
- How will management now ensure that the work of the Herpetological Society of Ireland, who have brought out the significance of the Watergate Park wetlands, is built on and that we ensure other similar areas in the county are protected from potential destruction?"
That this area committee considers replacing the bins in Prospect Manor with SDCC maintained bins. The estate is currently managing their own bins yet this has become unsustainable.
To ask the Chief Executive for an update in relation to the clearing of the laneway adjacent to Woodlawn Park Avenue. Can SDCC please provide timelines in relation to the clearing and tidying of the same?
That this Area Committee ask the Chief Executive to discuss the inclusion of ‘Bait laying’ as part of planning applications for all future developments. Currently planning applications require construction traffic management plan, dust pollution, noise pollution plans etc. As rodents issue has become a common issue over the last few years the inclusion of ‘Bait laying’ would help solve this matter.

That this Area Committee requests that residents associations in the Lucan/Palmerstown/Fonthill electoral area be directly involved and consulted with regard to the creation of biodiversity areas in their housing estates.

Implementation of Clonburris SDZ Planning Scheme
To ask the Chief Executive to update this area committee in relation to the re-commencement of the Village Improvement Scheme in Lucan Village
To ask the Chief Executive to reduce the height of the tall trees growing in Tymon Park close to the boundary wall with Rushbrook Road, Kennington Road,Kennington Crescent and Kennington Close to avoid risk of the trees blowing onto these properties which is a matter of concern to the residents
To ask the Chief Executive what plans are envisaged to alleviate the concerns of dog walkers in relation to Dodder Valley Park given the stated intention at the last Council meeting to ensure that all users of the park would be respected.
That the Chief Executive replace the trees which were cut down some years ago on the south side of Cromwellsfort Road, as the removal of these trees, quite apart from the environmental issue which is a serious concern, has also led to an increase in illegal parking in the area. Cars and vans are parking on the footpaths and this obstructs the pathway for buggies and wheelchair users, as well as making it more difficult and dangerous for residents to exit their homes due to impaired visibility.
To ask the Chief Executive, in relation to the proposed Whitechurch stream flood alleviation scheme, what are the underlying causes of the flooding and could the alleviation be implemented by other measures such as dredging, so as to reduce the intrusion of the hard defences and preserve as many of the trees as possible
To ask the Chief Executive for an update as to when the proposed water fountains will be introduced in Rathfarnham Castle and the playground in Tymon Park, given the importance of encouraging the use of reusable flasks and bottles instead of single use plastics, and supporting our health and wellbeing
