That the Manager present a report on Sunday/Week-end Bin Collections in Clondalkin Village and any changes which have occurred.
That this Committee recommends that South Dublin County Council inform all residents directly at their home address when changes are being made to refuse collections.
That the Manager, in relation to Foxdene Estate Clondalkin, look at or inspect that the building material that lies adjacent to the Lucan Outer Ring Road been removed from the estate. The building material has now been a focus for illegal dumping and has been a health hazard for local residents.
That the Council work with the Gardaí and community groups in a concerted effort to eliminate bonfires this Halloween and that the Council write now to relative community groups advising them of the ban on bonfires and seeking their positive support in stamping out this dangerous and expensive practice.
That this Committee calls on the Health Service Executive to retain the Manor Road Health Centre in Palmerstown.
Recognising the significant inconvenience caused by recent disruptions to bin collections (mainly bank holiday services) for residents in the LEA, that this Committee calls for a solution that ensures that particular areas are not burdened with an unfair share of the disruption.
That the Manager would present a detailed report for discussion on the matter that all grey bins are not being returned to footpaths when emptied, rather they are being left on the roads, as in case in many estates. The practice of not returning grey bins to footpaths by some staff, is not only a source of great annoyance and inconvenience to many residents, including our senior citizens, but is also potentially dangerous as many cars can be seen manoeuvring around grey bins that are left on roads in our estates.
That this Committee requests the Manager to examine the feasibility of establishing voluntary committees, with appropriate community group structures, whose function would be to assist the council in the maintenance and future improvement of each of the council’s burial grounds. In examining the feasibility of this proposal, this committee further suggests that council should initiate a pilot project based at Esker Cemetery, Lucan.

That this Committee, noting the continuing closure of the Government’s Local Authority Swimming Pool Programme, requests the Manager to present a detailed report on any and all other feasible options to fund provision of the proposed Lucan Swimming Pool.
That this Committee supports the Community Grants system operated by this Council and calls on management to protect these Grants in the current financial constraints and climate and that this matter be fully discussed. Many community organisations have expressed grave concern at the reported discontinuation of these grants as in most cases they make the difference between a community activity going ahead and not and the little money given by the Council has a multiplier effect locally.
That this Committee expresses disappointment at the decrease in services at the sports hall at Palmerstown Community School owing to the recent cut in management hours because of Government cut backs. Further, that this committee will explore ways of assisting Co. Dublin VEC in restoring full time management, particularly through self financing means.
That the Manager would provide a progress report on the fitting out of the proposed Palmerstown Community Centre, and advise the Committee when the Centre will be available for use.
That this Committee, acknowledging the excellent role that this Council has played in both funding terms and facilitator terms, calls on the Manager responsible to write to County Dublin VEC expressing our dismay at the recent decision to replace the Manager at Palmerstown Community Sports Facility with a part-time Manager shared with Collinstown Park Community College and requesting that the VEC restore the full time services of a Manager to the facility to the benefit of both the school and the local community. Removing the services of a full time Manger contravenes the strategy recently agreed between the VEC and Pobalscoil Iosolde and the Palmerstown Community Sports Facility Management Committee.
That this Committee is seriously concerned about the reduction of staff and services in the Community Sports Complexes at Palmerstown Community School and Collinstown Park Community College and requests the Manager to make a report on the matter.
