That the Lucan-Clondalkin Area Committee is fully aware of the dissatisfaction amongst the 4000 residents of Lucan and Palmerstown who are on the Live Register/seeking employment about services available to them near to where they live, and requests the Manager to write to the Minister for Social and Family Affairs, the CPLN and the Clondalkin LES requesting that immediate action be taken to acquire suitable premises in Lucan and Palmerstown to provide necessary social welfare and local employment services.
Following on from my meeting in Newcastle regarding the closure of Tay lane, and the Minister for Transport's decision to allocate €350,000 to keeping the exit at Tay Lane, that this Committee contacts the Minister for Transport to allocate the €1million funding required to upgrade the safety and to keep both lanes open, rather than out only.
That this Committee deplores the failure of the Department of Education and Science to sanction the appointment of a Design Team for the extension to Lucan Community College, an extension for which the VEC has approval and for which a Schedule of Accommodation has been agreed with the College, notes the anxiety of parents, of children living near the College and attending Scoil Áine and Scoil Mhuire, who in the past could expect to secure places in the College, about securing places given the limitation of 800 places on the numbers that can be admitted to 1st Year and requests the Manager to convey these views to the Minister for Education and Science and the Committee's view that a Design Team should be appointed immediately.
