This Committee requests that South Dublin County Council write to and liaise with the OPW in relation to ongoing operations along Whitechurch Road and the green space at the front of the Wilbrook estate. Willbrook Lawn is a residential community and a home for families, not merely a construction staging site. The current operational setup is putting pedestrians—particularly school children—at unnecessary risk every morning and afternoon. Can the Council raise the issues below with a view to getting increased safety measures in place? 1. The estate´s front green space has effectively been turned into a continuous construction access blocked footpaths, heavy sign clutter, and blind spots , causing issues for pedestrians and children going to school. 2. Construction Traffic & Speeding: Heavy machinery and diggers regularly move at unsafe speeds through areas heavily populated by children and pedestrians. 3. Access Obstructions & Parking: Multiple construction vehicles and worker cars are frequently parked around the estate entrance, severely restricting visibility for drivers exiting Willbrook Lawn and creating tight choke points for foot traffic.

On Behalf of The Grange Park & Whitechurch Abbey Flooding Steering Group 1. Conduct a Risk & Safety Assessment of the site: Require council engineers to inspect all exposed site gaps along the Whitechurch Stream between St Gatien's Court and Willbrook Lawn immediately. 2. Install Fiixed Temporary Defences: Install robust, fixed temporary flood barriers capable of protecting Grange Park to the required 1-in-100-year (1% AEP) design standard throughout the winter and until the permanent defences are complete. 3. Put a Local Emergency Plan in Place: Publish a clear emergency plan detailing how council crews will monitor the stream and deploy backup pumps and other measures when a severe rainfall event occurs. 4. Publish the January Flood Investigation Report: Release the official report into why Grange Park flooded in January, ensuring the council and OPW acknowledge the cause and guarantee those vulnerabilities are addressed. Preventative action now is the only way to safeguard homes that are now uninsured for flood damage due to the flood in January.

I am re-submitting this Motion that I originally brought before the March ACM (Motion No. 9 copy attached for ease of reference). That Motion requested that the rumble strips that had been placed at the approaches to Ford's Bridge, Bohernabreena, following a series of bridge strikes, be moved and placed further back from the approaches. Originally the residents were happy that rumble strips were to be installed, but they were installed too close to the approaches. The noise from vehicles going over the strips, especially lorries from the quarry, is so loud that residents' lives are disrupted by it. The written response to the Motion, and at the ACM was that the strips are located too close to the approaches and a commitment was given that an engineer would go out and ensure the situation is resolved. The resident informs me now that eighteen months later, it appears no changes have been made to rectify. Can an update on this be provided please? Can you advise me if this is true? If so, can you please organise an engineer to review the design and resolve the situation. Given the passage of time could this be treated as a matter of urgency please?.
