Motions
That the Manager would report on the proposal to extend the Earlsfort Residents Centre and South Dublin County Council's support for a Grant Application for this project to the Community Department by the Earlsfort Residents Association. That this Committee supports this project and the endeavours of the Earlsfort Residents Association.
Parks
Questions
To ask the Manager to agree to draw up a plan to enhance the corner of Esker Place at the junction in Esker Lawns. This small public space is deteriorating in condition. The Esker Lawns Residents Association and many residents in Esker Lawns have requested that some works by the Parks and Landscaping Services Department will greatly enhance the entrance to Esker Lawns and the estate in general.

That the Parks Department come up with a plan to tackle anti-social behaviour on the open land facing the Green Park shops.
That the Manager would present a detailed report for discussion on delays involved and the time-scale for the actual opening of the Lucan Skate Park. Many young people and parents are very anxious that the Skate Park be opened as soon as possible given that the substantive works have been completed for some considerable time.
That the Lucan/Clondalkin Area Committee notes the Council's Draft 5 Year Playground Construction Programme and welcomes the proposal to provide two 4000 square metres playgrounds at a cost of € 700,000 each in Corkagh Park, Clondalkin and Griffeen Valley Park, Lucan. However, will the Manager consider the possibility of providing an additional 1000 square metre playground in a neighbourhood park in Lucan, east of the Outer Ring Road, possibly in Ballyowen Park along the Fonthill Road, or in the extended Hermitage Park.
That the Manager would outline in detail the circumstances surrounding the delays in the taking-in-charge of the open space adjacent to and overlooking Brookvale Estate, Lucan, particularly given that Brookvale Estate has been occupied by Residents for more than ten years.
Environment
Questions
To ask the Manager for an up-dated report on what further litter bins are scheduled to be installed this year in the Lucan, Clondalkin and Palmerstown areas at bus stops, main roads, open spaces, parks etc.
To ask the Manager to agree to ensure that when both black and green bins are collected from homes, that the bins are returned onto the footpaths. The leaving of bins, very often in the middle of roads, when residents may not be at home due to work, schools etc., is causing severe inconvenience in many estates and a threat to safety as motorists often have to negotiate bins in the middle of roads in estates.

That the Manager presents a report on the sewage overflow in Wheatfield Crescent in summer 2006, its cause (blockage in Liscarne?) and on what is being done to ensure that this won't happen yet again .
That the Manager provides litter bins on Main Street, Clondalkin as soon as possible.
To thank the Manager for recently establishing the new Graffiti Removal Crew in the Council and for recently agreeing to include the Griffeen Avenue and Griffeen Road areas in the Graffiti Removal Programme of Works following my representation on the outbreak of graffiti in these areas. Would the Manager please give a time-scale for these works and also provide to this Area Committee Meeting a detailed works schedule for the Graffiti Removal Crew for the Lucan, Clondalkin and Palmerstown areas for this Summer period.
That the Manager would outline if there are any suitable sites within the Clondalkin/Lucan area for a dog pound. Is the Manager aware that people who rescue dogs are charged €25 to put them into a pound? Could any local groups working in this area be taken on board?
Housing
Questions
To ask the Manager to clarify with reference to Valhalla on Watery Lane:-
a) Will there be an agency, other than South Dublin County Council in charge of this special housing?
b) How will the allocation be decided?
c) Are all the units for the physically disabled and, if not, who are the others for?
To ask the Manager to report in detail on all stages of the House Purchase Application process i.e. from the time the initial application is made to the completion of the purchase process, and what is a the time-scale for such a typical case from beginning to end. Some Residents are concerned at the inordinate time this process takes, including the resolution of the legal aspects of the process.
