That this Committee requests that the Manager allocates sufficient resources to the Planning Department to ensure that each phase of all housing estates are finished to a satisfactory taking-in-charge standard within a period of eighteen months from the construction of each phase.
That the Manager would present a detailed report on discussions or any meetings to date relating to proposals to facilitate any park and ride facilities at Weston Aerodrome during the forthcoming and much coveted Ryder Cup Competition. Would the Manager also report on what concerns the Local Authority has with regards to any existing outstanding or unresolved planning, enforcement or legal issues, as included in the Manager's Report to the Lucan/Clondalkin Area Committee Meeting, 21st February 2006, Motion No. 15, and in what way, if any, such issues would influence consideration being given to future planning applications for new developments or change of use as part of this development.
That the Manager report in detail on the development of Adamstown to date with particular reference to works, both external and internal, designed to facilitate accessibility for those residents who may have special needs, including residents who may use wheelchairs.
Corporate Services
Questions
To ask the Manager to write to Magnet Entertainment to request details, including time-scales, as to when its services, including Broadband, will be available to the householders and businesses in the more established regions of Lucan. Currently such works are taking place on Griffeen Avenue to provide welcome services to many householders in housing estates in the local vicinity.
To ask the Manager to agree to write to NTL to request when householders, who live in more established estates in the Lucan area, can avail of the NTL Broadband Service. Would the Manager also request NTL to provide details of which estates can avail of NTL's Broadband Service in the Lucan area and what is the estimated time-scale for the provision of this service in all other estates. It is now a considerable time since I was informed by NTL that their Broadband Service would be available in specific estates and I am still awaiting an up-date on this matter.
To ask the Manager to contact the Irish Aviation Authority to arrange a meeting to discuss matters relating to the operation of Weston Aerodrome and its impact on the quality of life of Lucan residents.
To ask the Manager to contact An Bord Gais with a view to arranging a meeting relating to the examination of the standards required in connecting homes to the gas supply network.

That this Committee requests that the Council contacts the Health Board Executive requesting that steps be taken to ensure that the current ambulance service being provided to the Lucan, Palmerstown, Clondalkin and Newcastle-Lyons areas is supplemented by local ambulance depots. This step is essential in light of the severe traffic congestion in the area.
That the Manager would invite the Minister for Education and Science, Mary Hanafin TD to visit St. Andrew's National School, Lucan, to view the conditions including the accommodation crisis in St. Andrews, and to further emphasise the urgency in having these issues addressed.
Roads
Questions
To ask the Manager to agree to upgrade the footpath between Palmerstown Woods and the Cloverhill Railway Bridge, ensuring the following:
1. That the bushes/ briars are cut back at regular intervals.
2. To improve the path at the entrance to the truck park to ensure greater safety of pedestrians.
3. To place a protective barrier on the footpath opposite the exit from the IDA Industrial Estate as trucks exiting that estate sometimes mount the curb.
To thank the Manager for his earlier detailed report on the matter of the required and long outstanding need for the up-grading of the footpaths and kerbs on Kennelsfort Road, Palmerstown. Would the Manager please give further details as to when he expects to conduct the extensive survey of the footpaths and kerbs on Kennelsfort Road, and subject to a successful submission for funding, when would the Manager envisage being able to commence these works.
To ask the Manager to report on details of the Tree Planting Programme as part of the Outer Ring Road works in Lucan. The removal of such a huge amount of trees as part of these road works, has caused great upset to many Local Residents who live on this road.
To ask the Manager to undertake emergency pothole maintenance on the Lucan-Newcastle Road in the vicinity of Hillcrest, Westbury and Finnstown as well as Tandy’s Lane. These portions of road are being subjected to a considerable amount of lorry traffic due to the Adamstown development.
To ask the Manager to provide an update on the exact timescale involved in the completion of the final phases of the Traffic Calming Programme within the Lucan and Palmerstown areas given the fact that many residents are anxiously awaiting this important safety enhancement.

That the Manager undertakes to immediately provide Traffic lights at the Liffey Valley Roundabout (St. Loman’s Rd./Fonthill Rd.junction) in the interests of freeing up traffic jams in the general area. Given that such a proposal formed part of the planning application for the lands at St. Loman’s and that regrettably the plan was approved by An Bord Pleanála, it would make sense to put the measures in place in advance of the commencement of the development.
That the Manager explains if there are any proposals to implement a HGV ban on Woodford Hill.
"That this Committee recommends to South Dublin County Council that no land from Corkagh Park be taken for a park and ride facility and that such land be obtained elsewhere."
That the Manager explains the delay in ensuring that all signage relating to the Lucan Village Parking Scheme is in accordance with the Bye-Laws and that the ticket machines are adjusted to refuse money at the weekend.
