Cathaoirleach's Business         Councillor F. McCarthy

That the Manager immediately changes the traffic priority at the junction of Dodsboro Road and the Old Celbridge Road and puts in place appropriate measures to prevent illegal right-turns in an effort to combat rat-running.

Mot (2)
Submitted by:
Councillor T. Ridge

That this Committee receive an updated report regarding the possibility of re-opening bus lanes until Dublin Bus have provided buses for same.
Mot (3)

That the Manager examines the manhole cover outside the residential premises on Main Street, Clondalkin and carries out immediate repairs. This problem has been passed on to Siac on a number of occasions, but still the problem remains.
Mot (4)
Submitted by:
Councillor R. Dowds
Responsibility:
Muiris O'Keeffe

That the Lucan/Clondalkin Committee recommends that the pedestrian gap from Woodford Heights into Monastery Gate Estate be re-done ensuring:

  1. Pedestrian access.
  2. A chicaned path so that bicycles/motorbikes cannot fly through.
  3. The use of a type of bollard which discourage people from sitting on top of them.
Mot (5)
Submitted by:
Councillor G. O'Connell
Responsibility:
Muiris O'Keeffe, Seamus Daly

That the Manager have an examination of the Kennelsfort Road/Palmerstown Cemetery Road junction carried out with a view to alleviating the very severe traffic congestion that takes place there at certain times especially, but not only, on week-ends and that he report back to  this meeting with proposals for addressing the traffic situation at this point as a matter of urgency.  This junction is serving three housing estates, the Palmerstown Shopping Centre and Palmerstown Cemetery for which it appears to be now totally inadequate and cannot cope with the current levels of traffic thus resulting in a very dangerous situation should emergency vehicles need to get in or out of this area at certain times.

Mot (6)
Submitted by:
Fintan McCarthy
Responsibility:
Muiris O'Keeffe, Seamus Daly

That the Manager undertakes to immediately provide Traffic lights at the Liffey Valley Roundabout (St. Loman’s Rd./Fonthill Rd.junction) in the interests of freeing up traffic jams in the general area. Given that such a proposal formed part of the planning application for the lands at St. Loman’s and that regrettably the plan was approved by An Bord Pleanála, it would make sense to put the measures in place in advance of the commencement of the development.

Mot (7)
Submitted by:
Councillor E. Tuffy
Responsibility:
Thomas Curtin, Tony O Grady
That this Committee recommends that Earlsfort Estate be prioritised for a traffic calming scheme and, noting that a recent dangerous incident on one of the entrance roads appears to have been due to speeding, further recommends that the Roads Department survey the estate and prepare a draft scheme for implementation as soon as possible when the current programme of traffic calming schemes is completed.
Mot (8)
Submitted by:
Councillor T. Ridge
Responsibility:
Michael Seery
That this Council ensure that the owners of the shop on Main Street Clondalkin who occupy a considerable space on the footpath with their goods for sale be obliged to clear the pathway and not use the same as a selling area.
