To ask the Manager to write to the Minister for the Environment , Heritage and Local Government Mr. Dick Roche TD and thank him for awarding an additional E100,000 to the Lucan Skate Park Project, which I had earlier requested South Dublin County Council to apply for, which will now provide skating opportunities for beginners, more advanced skaters and thise accomplished at competitive level in the New Lucan Skate Park.
To ask the Manager to provide an update on what response has been received from the ESB in relation to costs involved in the removal of the overhead lines in

That this Committee calls upon the Manager to bring forward suggested venues and dates to the next Organisation, Procedure and Finance Meeting for the holding of an area committee meeting in each of the Lucan, Palmerstown and Newcastle areas.
That this Committee requests the Manager to write to the Minister for Communications and request the Minister to make available the necessary resources for the provision of the appropriate infrastructure so that the Broadband Service can be provided in areas where this service is still not available.
That this Committee requests the Manager to consider the opening up of a Council customer service office in Lucan and Palmerstown in order to further improve the service being given to residents and in acknowledgement of the fact that no adequate direct public transport link connects these communities to the Council’s other offices.
That this Committee requests the Manager to write to the Minister for the Environment to highlight the growing concerns regarding the increased use of hand held mobile telephones by drivers while driving cars and heavy goods vehicles, and to ask the Minister to highlight this serious matter by introducing a nationwide campaign and to intensify his efforts to eliminate such dangerous practices on our roads.

To thank the Manager for agreeing to my earlier requests to make school locations safer and for agreeing to consider introducing new helpful measures and resolutions including special speed limits, flashing warning lights and additional signage, and to thank the Manager for also agreeing that such an appropriate location for the initial introduction of flashing lights would be at St. Annes and St. Thomas National School, Lucan as this is a location where there is almost continuous passing traffic.
To ask the Manager to provide a school crossing warden on Griffeen Avenue to facilitate children who must cross this busy road to get to
To ask the Manager to provide an update on the timescale anticipated for the implementation of the remaining elements of the Council’s traffic calming programme in Lucan and Palmerstown.
To ask the Manager for the footpaths in St. Patrick's Park/Avenue, now 40 years old to be repaired, where there is a great danger of members of the public tripping and injuring themselves.
To ask the Manager has the undished footpath at Buirg an Rí now been dished (Wheelchair user had to travel on road couldn’t get chair up or down path)?.
To ask the Manager if he will request the developer to remedy the untidy state of the entrance to Liffey Valley Park Estate, Lucan, adjacent to the roundabout at the entrance to Mount Andrew Estate, and if he will request the Roads Department to examine the adequacy of the public lighting in front of the row of houses adjacent to the roundabout?

That this Committee calls upon the Council to immediately consult with the Parent’s Associations and Boards of Management of St. Thomas’ School, Scoil Aine Naofa and Lucan Community College with a view to implementing traffic management measures to ensure the safety of school-goers arising from the increasing hazards posed by traffic in the vicinity of the schools.
That a report be given viz a viz broken railing at entrance to Westbourne Estate, Clondalkin – this Councillor has already received a most unhelpful response to a previous question.
That the Manager present a report on how best to deal with these very difficult traffic situations;
- The difficulty of traffic getting up and down New Road, Laurel Park end.
- Further traffic calming on Watery Lane between Gaelscoil na Camoige and the entrance to Riversdale Estate.
That the Manager agrees to explore options to help resolve the increased problems of all day parking at the lay-by car park on the Lucan Road at St. Mary's Girls National School and St. Joseph's College.
That the Manager immediately changes the traffic priority at the junction of Dodsboro Road and the Old Celbridge Road and puts in place appropriate measures to prevent illegal right-turns in an effort to combat rat-running.
That the Manager provides an update to this Committee upon proposals to review speed limits outside schools within the Lucan, Palmerstown, Clondalkin and Newcastle-Lyons areas.

To ask the Manager to report on the work of repairing the wall adjacent to the open space at 10A Cannonbrook Park, Lucan, which was agreed as a result of my representations to the Development Department Meeting of 20th September 2005.
To ask the Manager for an up-to-date report on progress being made to close off the open space between house nos. 14 - 16 Palmerstown Lawns following my prolonged representations on this important matter, including at the Development Department Area Committee Meeting of 20th January 2003 when the Manager reported that the re-construction of the wall at this location was complete and that the Council was then intending to examine its options in relation to the disposal of the area fronting the wall, whilst acknowledging that the area in question contains a major service and would be subject to a wayleave agreement upon disposal.
To ask the Manager if the Minister for Education and Science Mary Hanafin TD has responded to the invitation sent to her by South Dublin County Council to visit St. Andrew's National School, Lucan, to view the apalling condidtions in St. Andrew's, following my representation at the Development Department Meeting of 20th September 2005. If no such response has been received from the Minister would the Manager agree to issue a further invitation.

Questions
To ask the Manager to report on what planning issues would he deem for considration in the context of the proper planning and development of an area, should a private developer wish to make available private lands for large-scale park and ride facilities for a major event, such as, for example, the forthcoming Ryder Cup Golfing Competition, and in such an event what measaures would the Manager introduce to protect the quality of life of the Local Residential Community against any resulting additional large-scale traffic congestion in that area.
To ask the Manager to report on what measures he wil introduce to protect the quality of life of established local communities in the event of developers proposing to break through established cul-de-sacs to provide access to newly proposed developments.
To ask the Manager to outline the number of new homes constructed in Lucan, Palmerstown, Clondalkin and Newcastle-Lyons in 2005.
To ask the Manager to provide an update on what is holding up the taking in charge of Hayden’s Park estate. Residents have been expecting works to have been completed and the process to have concluded for a considerable time.
To ask the Manager to provide an update on what is holding up the taking in charge of Tullyhall Estate. It is of concern to residents that the process has been so drawn-out.

That the Manager details what discussions have taken place with the developers of Adamstown regarding the construction of a leisure centre with a swimming pool and all-weather pitch at the flexible use building to be located beside the site identified as Primary School #1 and to specify whether or not the swimming pool will be in public or private ownership.
That the Manager would report on the status of all Planning and Enforcement issues at Weston Aerodrome, Lucan.
That the Manager indicates the locations and quantity of residentially zoned development land currently within the ownership of private developers that remains undeveloped within the Lucan, Palmerstown, Clondalkin and Newcastle-Lyons areas at the present time.
