MOTION No. 6

MOTION: Cllr. Alex White

"That the Manager present a report covering the measures to be taken to alleviate inconvenience and disturbance to local residents arising from the work along the Green Route which has now commenced and in particular to furnish detailed and timely information to residents concerning the likely effect of the works on traffic, parking, access to homes and side streets, noise etc".

REPORT

Site works have commenced in the vicinity of Grange Golf Club, and will commence along Taylors Lane and Grange Road in the near future, in accordance with the Contractors  (Clonmel Enterprises)  Works Programme and  Traffic Management Plan.  Initial works will involve the re-location of existing services from the old road to the new footpath/cycletrack, and the laying of new services.  Inevitably these works will cause a degree of inconvience and disruption to local residents and passing traffic.   Disruption will be kept to a minimum by ensuring that the Contractor complies with the terms of the Specification and Traffic Management Plan.  Roads Department would like to apologise in advance to the residents for any disruption that may be caused and would ask them to exercise all due care and attention while the works are in progress.

The Contractor's compounds will be located at the junction of Whitechurch Road and on the property of Merchant Meade.

It is anticipated that the works will be complete in approximately one year.
