MOTION NO. 3

MOTION: Councillor J. Daly

"That the Manager give an update to this Committee on the progress on the following junctions;

1. Morans Lane (Mountpelier)

2. The Lug, Saggart

3. Ballymaice Junction."

REPORT:

 1.  Morans Lane (Mountpelier)

It is understood that the Councillor's motion refers to Conroys Lane, Bohernabreena.  The Roads Department have been examining measures to improve the safety of the junction of Conroys Lane with Bohernabreena Road.  These studies are still ongoing, as the matter is quite complex.

2.  The Lugg, Saggart

A preliminary study was carried out at the junction of Lugg lane and Slade Road some time ago. A detailed study is required to determine the land needs to provide an improved junction. In addition a soil survey would be required to determine if there is a rock formation which would affect any suggested improvement line. No work has commenced on this yet.

3.  Ballymaice Junction

The Part 8 Report relating to this juction will be presented to the Committee at the November meeting.
