QUESTION: Cllr. Marie Corr

"To ask the Manager to state a specific date for the commencement of agreed works in the Russell Square development in relation to the removal of grass verges at the two entry points to the estate and to provide car parking spaces in their stead?"

REPLY

Detailed plans have been agreed between the Council's Architects Department, Housing Department and the service departments of the Council for the design and provision of the agreed parking spaces in Russell Square.   This will entail 15 new parallel car parking spaces being provided at Russell Drive, off Jobstown Road, and 12 new parrallel parking spaces on Russell Avenue, off Fortunestown Way.  The Council are currently commencing the procurement process to enable the work to be carried out.

It is anticipated that the provision of the 27 extra parking spaces at the entrances to Russell Square will considerably ease the parking problems currently being experienced by the residents at those locations.

As soon as a commencement date is finalised for the work, the members will be informed.
