Parking at Lugnaquilla Avenue, Greenpark

REPLY

Further to report presented to the last meeting, the parking of HGVs on the public roadway in residential areas where a HGV parking ban is in place is a matter for enforcement by An Garda Siochana where such parking restrictions are determined by Bye Laws adopted by the Council under existing Roads Legislation. The parking or storing of HGVs within the curtilage of a private dwelling is not covered by Roads legislation, but may constitute an unauthorised use of land under exiting Planning legislation. Accordingly, the matter has been referred to the Planning Department for comment, and the Area Committee will be advised of the outcome as soon as a response is received. The status of the second vehicular access at this location is also being examined by the Planning Department.
