COMHAIRLE CHONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF TALLAGHT AREA COMMITTEE 2
Monday, September 25, 2006
MOTION NO. 8
MOTION: Councillor E. Maloney
"That this Committee supports the reconstruction of the footpath located between Airton Road and Broomhills Road (on the left going towards Kilnamanagh). This pathway scarcely allows a pram/buggy to pass and an immediate solution to this dangerous location is required."
REPORT:
There is currently a 1.8m footpath on the east side of Greenhills Road and an older 1.0m wide footpath on the west side. Under the current County Development Plan it is proposed to reconstruct the Greenhills Road in this area, involving a realigned carriageway, new footpaths and cycletracks. Pending the commencement of this scheme, the Council will consider a footpath reconstruction for inclusion in the 2007 footpath programme. In the meantime, maintenance of the existing path will continue including the trimming of the hedge.
