QUESTION NO. 8

QUESTION: Councillor L. Dunne

"That this Area Committee calls on the Chief Executive to provide a clear and definitive timeframe for the commencement of the previously committed audit of Mac Uilliam Estate and the subsequent remedial works arising from its findings. This Committee further requests that the Chief Executive outline the proposed scope of the audit, the anticipated commencement and completion dates, and a timeline for the implementation of the necessary works, in accordance with the commitment previously given in discussions?"

REPLY:

Stock condition surveys are scheduled to commence in Mac Uilliam in November 2026. Subject to access being provided as required, the surveys are expected to be completed by December 2026. Tenants have been contacted by letter with confirmation of the contractors’ details and information on what to expect during the property survey.

The findings from these surveys will provide an evidence-based framework for determining future investment priorities and replacement programmes across the estate. Funding has been allocated under our revenue and capital budgets to address works identified through the surveys, with replacement and improvement works expected to be delivered from 2028 onwards based on the survey outcomes and identified asset lifecycles.
