QUESTION: Councillor W. Carey

To ask the Chief Executive if SDCC have an operational or financial interest in Bawnogue Shopping Centre and to establish what body or company are responsible for maintenance of the stairwell block and the upper level of the SC.

REPLY:

The Council's only interest in Bawnogue Shopping Centre is the ownership of a single vacant unit, formerly used as a rent office. Beyond this, the Council has no operational or financial involvement in the shopping centre and has no role in its management or maintenance.

Responsibility for the maintenance of the stairwell block and upper level of the shopping centre rests with the relevant owner(s) and/or management entity.
